Have you ever gotten on the computer, went on the internet with the intent of looking up something specific, got distracted by something on you homepage (news story, etc) clicked on it, spent over an hour completely off topic, forgot about you original intent, turned the computer off and then realized you forgot what you wanted to look up? That has happened to me more than once, lol! I always get distracted by facebook, or mylot, or just some crazy story and forget what I intended to do on the internet. I have come to the point of keeping a notepad with my laptop so I can write down what I need to look up. There are just way too many things to do on the ineternet.

This happens to me more often than I wish it did. So many times I go online with the intent to get certain things done, but I end up distracted. Sometimes, even days go by before I finally get to do what I wanted to!

So True! This has happened to me more than once also. Even tonight, there's things I needed to get done and I'm not doing them!

I'm surrounded by books and notes for all kinds of things. I know many people use their computer for notes but I'm old fashioned and write things down still. I keep daily records of my post count and earnings, also passwords and I'm surrounded with pens, a dictionary, a calculator and all sorts of junk. My dining table is my office...lol.

Hello olisaur, Yes, many times I surfing the net for something and news story catches my eye. I loose time on item I was researching or do not bother with it till another day that is how bad it gets sometimes. Other times I am very discipline but it is rare. I agree there are many things to do on the internet for fun or talking or learning or make money from. Thanks and have a great day Sincerley Unique16

As many sites as there are, I don't think there is enough to do on the internet as there aren't enough GOOD sites out there, not with the way its set up these days

I have actually done that even when hopping on mylot. I mean I come here specifically to follow up on my discussions I start; but then, I spy something interesting that one of my friends have started so I head over that way.

I think one has to set a time limit when it comes to the internet. Internet is addictive and it is very easy to get hooked on it. Thus one needs to set a time limit or else you ll end up wasting your time. Thus one gets distracted and thus it happened quite a lot of time that I ended up doing something else instead of working. I end up wasting time on forums and reading newspapers instead of doing my proper work.

Oh yeah. I've totally gotten distracted online. Especially on YouTube and mylot. Most of the time I try to leave the computer off to keep myself from going off on wild tangents through cyber-space. If I turn the computer on I'm likely to get distracted.

This seems all too familiar to me I am in the same boat as you. I wanted to check out something on a freelancing site today evening. But I opened the laptop, decided I should check my blog stats. Then I started writing a blog post. Then I came to myLot. Only when I checked my emails and saw a mail from the freelancing site, did I realize that I had completely forgotten what I was supposed to do in the first place. Information overflow and overload..lol Have a great time myLotting and BTW- Are you supposed to be on myLot right now, or have you forgotten something? Just kidding

most of us who uses internet encounter that its because we are not contented to one site sticky notes can help but i think the most important thing to do is to focus on what your searching first opening new tabs may help too but mostly self- discipline you can browse other site if your finished with what your looking for or you can also browse other site while waiting for your file to download if you have your self discipline and focus you can prevent this problem
