Yes, we only have barely 2 weeks to go before the 2010 national election, of course i will exercise my right to vote and make my self counted for this important event for our dear country. As of now, my lists was not yet complete but im still in the process of thinking, who was the right candidate for each and every position i should vote. Ive known a few individual who loses hope and not to vote instead this coming election. They believe that who ever candidate won, it will cause us nothing. It's them who was elected will truly feel the benefits of holding a government position. I personally believe that even one vote can make a difference, whatever happens i will participate and choose leaders who i think was deserving enough to lead and serve our country. How about you my dear filipino myLotters or even my non-filipino myLotters who wanted to gave their views about this topic, will you stand for your right and still vote despite many negative things that happened in our current government system? I would be very pleased hearing your response!

Yes, I will surely go out and vote. This is the time that my voice will be heard. I know this is just one vote but I believe this one vote counts. Same as you my list is not yet complete, and I am still looking for the possible candidates to vote especially in the local election and senatorial race. I have my own bets for the presidency and vice presidency although I am a bit confused of the two choices I have for the presidency race. I still have a week to think about it. And I am pretty sure that in May 10, I have my complete list and confident enough to stand for whom I will be voting. This election is a very crucial one because this is the chance for the Philippines to go farther and make significant changes for the greater of the people and our country. So let's grab this opportunity to wisely choose the right people who we know are the most fit to govern our economy, our country. God Bless, Philippines!

Hello there lloydbelleza! Election day was fast approaching and right at this moment, i already have my presidential and vice presidential bet also with senators and other local position. I do hope that you will soon complete your lists as well. I agree with you for saying that this election was crucial and we really must have a way to fight the negative things that was happening to our nation, one way was to choose the next set of leaders to govern us all. Good luck and God bless!

May 10 certainly is one day all of us have been waiting for...And that is to cast our votes to the candidates, who will uplift all our dying hopes and impose drastic changes for this country...It's a big YES for me, to go out and vote..My single vote may not be enough but for sure it will make relevance to my candidate's success....and our Country's good governance.

It is true rhazebustamante, a single vote can go a long long way because if every one will participate with just a single vote, it would be millions when counted all together, and might be an answer to our hope of a much better governance that might lead us all to progress. Good to know that you will participate in the coming election just like me. Good luck to all of us and God bless...

Yes I would definitely vote. I have friend who is running for Councilor in our city and he has a good standing based on the surveys. He is the exact opposite of the usual candidates who were running in the same position or even in the whole political system here in the Philippines. We have seen how principled he is and he was able to top the surveys even though he didn't have money in his campaign. He just made the people listen and educate them. Hopefully, he will succeed until the day of May 10. I just wish that a lot politician will be like him. He was offered with P20,000 by Loren Legarda but he didn't accept the money despite his team members and the mayor asked him to take it. He said he is not supporting Loren and couldn't take anything especially if the money came from the party that he condemns. His team told him that Loren wouldn't even know if he is supporting her or not anyway, but he stood to his beliefs. We need someone in the government who doesn't operate only for money but someone who is sincere to help for the service of the majority.

I'm going to vote definitely but I don't know who I'm going to vote for President. Sometimes what if I'm going to vote the unpopular candidate for president because the candidates that are running right now are in the government before. Why not try the candidates who don't serve us maybe they can make a difference unlike in the politicians who are running right now.

Hi rajaiv0810! You will definitely vote and you made a good choice i should say. Our country needs us, our municipality as well. We belong to this country so we have the responsibility towards making it the best that it could be. Your friend who's running for election definitely needs your support, we needed people like him who stand by his beliefs and principle. Good luck and God bless...

Hi there agv0419... Whenever im having my breakfast every single day before i go to work, i happened to watched this segment in one morning show that interviewed presidential candidates. Some presidentiables being interviewed really was unpopular but have this very good platforms and credentials too just like their popular opponents. Before the segment ends, the host will gave his final words saying that it isn't right that we should based our votes depending on the popularity of candidates and to the recent survey results that sways our decision making. It's really hard to correct the mindset of some of our countrymen but we have to, sometimes it is the most deserving who was being left out by our attention... Good luck and have a good night!

Of course I still would. It's my chance to have a say on who will run the government, and I would definitely not let it pass. I think more and more voters now are really looking forward in exercising their right to vote cause it's a chance to finally change the way of our government after 9 years. I truly hope that the one who would win the elections is the best person to lead our country.

hello Ingkingderders! Good to know that. I am also hoping that the best or at least the most deserving ones for the all the positions would emerge as winners. More so with the highest position which is the country's new president. It's a very crucial choice I think knowing that we really needed a whole new sets of leaders that could truly implement changes for the better Philippines. Good luck to you, happy weekend!

Ive watched that from the news as well, its as if we are not yet ready for the election this Monday. For sure there will be the usual election related anomalies that will take place during the election proper especially the counting of votes. I wish there will be clean, honest and successful election. Let's all pray for it. Good luck!

Absolutely i will vote too, i mean each and every voter should vote so that their voices will be heard. Yes we might just count as one but if we join together its going to be a huge number and it will have a good impact already. And we need to vote for the future of our country and for our future generation as well. And we as much as possible should choose the right kind of candidates for the post not just because their popular but because we know that they are capable to run their post effectively.

Hello setsuna! Im happy that you are so aware with the importance of electing country's future leaders. THat's the problem with many of us. That we tend to vote for those who are popular, we go with the flow, with the bandwagon, trend, and those who have a good ratings in surveys. It's not right for we neglect to see other candidates who have larger qualities and much abilities that could surely make a difference. It's time to change this old thinking of ours and i hope we could elect those that could help us to gain progress not those who will gain wealth for themselves alone. Good luck to us! and stay happy!

Yes, I will definitely vote! I didn't complete senatorial list because if you put someone in your list, it's one count for that person already. I want to help my bets to win by NOT completing my senatorial list (i have only 3 bets). As for the presidential bets, I have my eyes set on Gordon. and Bayani for VP. They're the best team ever! I know they can make a GOOD difference. I know a few who wouldn't vote as well. It's really sad what those selfish politicians did not only to our country but to our people as well. I am also greatly frustrated with those who would vote for a candidate just because the candidate is famous. Like when I point out that my candidate is good. they'll say "yeah he is, but he wont win because he's unpopular". Then I am like "WTF!" haha. If all those who will vote because of popularity would use their heads and vote for someone unpopular, maybe the unpopular bet would win, and then definitely make a positive change for our country. The problem/trend in our country is that those who are famous tend to be bad leaders :( Why is it that we still keep voting those? You'll vote someone who has a very bad track record because he's popular rather than someone who's unpopular but has a very goof track record? I wish Filipinos would think more rationally.

HI knicnax! Its true that Filipinos should be totally aware already by this time that popularity among the candidates was not the sole reason for choosing/picking the right person to be elected for the open position in our government. As I have watching one early morning show, i still recalled the host saying that we should not vote because of popularity, this was an old way of choosing candidates. That we never mind what his/her qualifications are, instead we are just going with the flow, with the trend and those with good standings in surveys. It's better if we take time to know all the candidates specially the not so popular ones, or the new players because a lot of them has a good track record and might just be the one who will be fitted for the open position in the government. Its true that filipinos should think and decide wisely this coming may 10 election. Good luck to you, to me and to our dear country...

I used to call people dumb, stupid, selfish, etc..but i think the real problem is that most people don't read between the lines and doesn't try to research on the candidates based on platforms and interviews. so far gordon was right about some ampatuans being acquited...no candidate predicted that

Hello letranknight25! It is because most people based their chosen candidates according to trend, popularity and even on the most recent survey results. True enough, its just hard to correct the mindset of our other fellow filipinos on how to really pick the right or at least best deserving candidate for every open government position especially the highest ranking one. Gordon was really good, i really admired him ever since. Ive been to subic even before i was so young. My relatives there have this great respect and all out support for him because of his true dedication in serving their area. More power. God bless!

Very true Jinjer, one vote does make a difference at least. All of us should exercise our right to vote and be careful also because I have heard that this Smartmatic machine is so sensitive that at a single blot or smear on part of your ballot print , it will be having a difficulty to read your vote. Just correct me if I am wrong to what I have heard regarding this. As for me, I will also vote to make sure I have been counted and responsible enough to take part of this important event in our country. I just hope that this coming election will be peaceful and no cheating be involve. Besides, what we are all fearing for that will happen is if there will be power interruptions during election day..are you also in favor of partial manual counting??

Hello strawberrychocodahi! well ive watched that from the news as well, the machine which will be used in counting our votes was so sensitive that is why all of us should be aware of shading our ballots carefully so problems will be avoided. I am also hoping for the peaceful and honest election, i feel angry whenever i heard of crimes committed because of politics. Cheating during election was very fervent and i wish it would end up for the sake of seeing the real voice of the people. Im not in favor of partial manual counting because i believe that this type of procedure could be manipulated easily by those who wanted to cheat and claim the position desperately. Good luck to us and have a great day ahead!

Hello LetranKnight25! As ive read your previous discussions, i can read between the lines how involved you are in politics in your own little way. Not all of us are like you and i admire your courage and determination in being involved with what you think was right. True enough, i just knew that its not easy to influence other people's thinking on who should be the right person they should vote, but who knows? we really don't know what to expect, maybe the best will emerge as the winner not the topnotcher among the surveys. Good luck to us and God bless!

I will still vote despite of what is happening to our country right now. I am hoping that there is still a change in our government system , that there would be no corrupt leaders that will be sitting the position. It is hard but we dont have a choice but to hope. Many candidates are after the position of the most powerful ruler of the country because they all have personal intentions, to be wealthy among all. But my bet this coming election is already a millionaire and he is right, he doesnt have a reason to robbed the wealth of the country because he is already rich and have everything in life.

Hello junmae! Its true that what we have to be hopeful instead of losing the urge to vote and appoint new leaders of our country. Its really hard to tell who among them was perfectly fitted for the open position in our government especially the top positions like president, vice president and senators but at least try to select the most credible and deserving for this, I do hope that our new set of leaders will serve the country and its people, lead us to progress and bring back the dignity of our nation. It's so hard to accept that we belong to the lists of most corrupt leaders. Good luck to us and may God bless us all...

A lot of us really didn't have a complete lists of who shall we vote this coming election, but i would suggest that you must try to knew them all by updating yourself with their platforms, backgrounds and personality etc. Internet will be a great tool in knowing them a little, news from TV or radios plus other people's point of view regarding the candidates are some of the ways on how you could choose the best deserving among them all. I am still on the fence about voting basically because I still cannot decide on who I would be voting for. They seem all the same to me. Hello maanrodriguez! I understand you for feeling that way and that's what i exactly explain in my discussion. That many individuals i knew had this feeling of not voting anymore because nothing happened, that all the politicians was the same, and no one could really uplift and change our present economic situation. Partly its true, but we should not think that way as much as possible because whatever happened, there's still hope, let's find solution and never ever give up because if that happened, it's the end of our dream and we surely cannot aim for a better Philippines. Just a piece of advice and i do hope that i make sense. Good luck and more power maan!
