Hi Friends, Yesterday, we got a small rain here in India, but, the storms, thunder and lightning were very much big... on hearing this thunder stroms, my dog was afraid and came into my house, as the thunder was a big sound.. Each time when thunderstorm comes, my dog gets afraid of it and barks like anything... Is your dog or cat is afraid of those thunderstorms...??

My dog doesn't seem affected by loud noises at all. She'll act hyper just before a thunderstorm because I think she knows it's coming. But once it hits, she'll fall asleep. The only thing she doesn't like is having to go out into the rain to go to the bathroom. My sister's dog tho freaks out during a storm. She runs upstairs and hides in my bathroom. She shakes really hard too and I worry that with her being such a small animal, she's going to give herself a heart attack. If the storm lasts more than a day, we have to take her to the vet to get meds to calm her down. Otherwise she won't eat or sleep. Even just a little rain scares her and the thunder really really scares her.

None of the pets we have right now seems to have this fear, but we have had many in the past that did. One cat always hid in the cloths dryer so we had to be sure to check it before we turned it on.

Hi arun, For the last two days it was cloudy in this place too but there was no rain. Temperature got down and it is really a relief to us. For your question, presently I don’t have a dog and when I had a dog, it never scared for thunder or lightening. I think that animals are not scared on these but it is a surprise to know about your dog. If there is very loud noise, surely I will scare

hiarunmailsoh yes when we last had a dog and cat they were both frightened by the thunder and the flashes of lightening so both were hunkered down half under my chair trying I guess to get some sort of comfort from me.I also dislike electric storms something fierce so they had an ally there for them. My husband on the other hand really loved the lightening and the thunder storms and watch out like someone watching a play on television.

my dog acts like she don't realize there's a thunderstorm going on.Maybe when she's older she'll react, she's only eight weeks old at this time.
