Our television doesn't have cable so we only rely on our antenna. These past 2 months, I realized that Cheryl Cosim is not seen in any ABS CBN news shows most especially Salamat Dok because it was her show and now Bernadette Sembrano is taking it on her wings. Our TV when our antenna is not adjusted to the right angle, can never get TV 5 in its reception until three weeks ago when I got tired of the bad reception we got for ABS-CBN. So I adjusted it. By chance of channel hopping, TV 5 made it to our channels and I was shock to see that Cheryl Cosim is now a talent of TV 5. Not only that, Paolo Bediones. Direk Joey Reyes. Christy Fermin. JC de Vera too. I might say that I must have missed a lot since I've been busy with our thesis. Trying to watch the shows of TV 5 made me realized that ABS - CBN and GMA's loss are a big gain to TV 5. And I guess it's safe to say that I love their shows. Most especially sitcoms like Everybody Hapi, BF/Gf. And Papparazzi and Juicy is not that bad when it comes showbizness. Plus Paolo Bedioness as a news reporter. Superb. =) I am glad that most of the actors and actresses (like Valeen Montenegro and Tuesday Vargas) stepped out of their comfort zone . Even Direk Joey Reyes is now an almost regular in Juicy and is a certified Kapatid. I value his opinions very much. Very objective man. I hope TV 5 will really take of their talents. They have gained so much and somehow, they are slowly building their network to be of the same level with ABS-CBN and GMA.

I guess these two giant network stations are overflowing with talents already that is why they seem to neglect their older and more senior stars all in all. With the stars coming from their reality shows becoming the popular ones, the olders stars seems neglected that is why there is a transfer of stars from one channel to the other stations. I guess they are the overflows of other station that TV 5 is benefiting from it. Well I think it is just about time that a third station should rise up to the competition as the two at times becomes almost identical already and becomes monotonous already. With regards to Cheryl Cosim, i just recently know that her status with ABS is still contractual despite being with the station for quite a long time. I think with her transfer she was given a permanent position in the station already. I think it is a good move for her part and a big loss from ABS since she was already a very good anchor for quite sometime already and her name is always cvonnected with the station but I guess she has to remake her name to be identified with the new station she belong to.

Lol. They have so many artist to handle that they forgot who matters the most. Like Maricel Soriano. =) Ahh.. I see. So that's why she had no hesitations when she transferred to TV5. Do she and Erwin Tulfo have the same story? I also heard that she and Willie Revillame were an item before. Not sure though.

From what I know, Willie and Maricel's sister were an item before and they had a daughter, Meryll Soriano.

If only we can also catch TV5 (was this formerly ABC 5?). I loved a lot of foreign primetime shows aired there before but was saddened by their sudden temporary hiatus. Even their noontime show was so wacky and fun. I think Tropang Trumpo was a very popular comedy show then which I think jumpstarted Micheal V's career. Not sure. I do have a theory that artists who do not have projects at ABS or GMA go to TV5 for the meantime. Some artists also seem to visit the network but are not necessarily leaving their original network. Maybe its the lack of a real competitor that makes them a home for anyone and everybody.

Yes. True. Tropang Trumpo was unbeatable. Many of the gag shows started because of them but I guess it's sad to say that nothing stays permanent. Chicken was the favorite expression in that show, right? Ahahaha!

without enough sponsors, a show is bound to get phased off. Ain't that sad for a very worthwhile gag show? Yes, I remember "chicken" very well. Thanks for refreshing my memory!

not too late to get cable. local channels more often churn out trashy shows. at least with cable you can sort out the rubbish from the garbage from the trash. lol! seriously, i like a couple of tv5 shows. i was a big fan of t.e.n. (the evening news) and jojo a all the way. sad that t.e.n. has been replaced by 'aksyon'. i liked t.e.n. so much i had a discussion about it here in mylot. jojo a all the way is alos a great show but not really sure if they are still showing it. if you have time, try watching that show. anyway, good luck with the thesis.

Ahaha. I wish we have the budget but since I only have to choose one between cable and internet connection, I have to ah, settle with what channels our antenna can get. I am not familiar with t.e.n. but base from your response, I am sure you're a person who knows the good channel, it's sad I missed it. I watch Jojo's show when he was still in QTV. I appreciate him in a way and was surprised to know he moved to TV 5. Maybe he got a better offer. But I'll try to check him sometimes. Thanks, allen. Happy mylotting!

I have surfed through Channel 5 but I had not seen a show that would make me sit through it for an hour at least. More so when I heard Fermin. I instantly had to press the remote for another channel. I do wish TV 5 would not turn out to be a has been site. The Everybody Hapi was a slapstick remake. Could you adjust your antenna further to Channel 25? This channel is innovative and informative.

LOL. I guess you are not much of a TV5 fan, Miss Eileen. Well, you are partly right. They still have some shows that need more polishing and they still need to come up with an original ideas. As for Everybody Hapi, maybe I missed so much of Abangan Ang Susunod na Kabanata, Ober da Bakod, Tondominium and Palibasa Lalaki kind of shows that I appreciate them in a way. =) Right now, all my antenna can get are abs, gma, nbn, ibc, tv5, studio 23, qtv and one cebuano channel. Maybe channel 25 is only available in NCR areas. =( Thanks, Miss Eileen. Cheers! =)

Oooops, I do watch the movie reruns and the Millionaire game with V Sotto. I like the question and answer type of game but I honestly have to bear painstakingly with the host. I wish they put Ryan Agoncillo in that show instead. You have a knack of memory for comedy programs huh! These channels should hire you to make a study about tv programs in the past and the present, and probably how these affect the viewing masa.Write them and make a proposal.

hello there, yes, they have changed they're theme. i hope they too become one of the best network stations. one of the reasons why i turn my attention to tv5, it's because of the show that actually studies presidential platforms. host by winnie monsod, the show had ended last week but i am happy, i hope they make more shows

YES! Timbangan, right? LOL. I forgot but I try to watch it from time to time. It airs every thursday and I just missed this week's episode. I am really glad that TV5 made a show just for her because she is one of the reasons why I watch QTV's 9pm news because of her segment. Thanks for your response. =) Have to jot that down in my calendar so I won't forget it next time. =)

This explains a lot of things. First is Sheryl Cosim, now i know why Bernadette has taken her place. I thought she was just on vacation. I think she's a loss to Channel 2. Sheryl is very effective as host on Salamat Doc. Second is JC de vera, i also wonder why he was replaced in Panday kids that soon. TV 5 must have a lot of money to pirate those artists from both channel 2 and channel 7 considering that their channel is that not good at the ratings. But i really hope they will catch up with the 2 giants eventually.

Yep. He, JC, transferred to TV5 because of his manager's advice - Annabelle Rama - Ruffa's mom. ruffa herself made a leap to TV 5 too.

I think ABC 5 is slowly gaining grounds. All they need is to extend and strengthen their broadcast to the province. I think this is a key,I think this is what makes ABS-CBN beats GMA. ABSCBNs provincial network is very strong, they have a station I think in all the regions in our country. What I observed also from this station is that is like a common ground from the ABSCBN and GMA talents. With Manny Pangilinan at the helm at I think this network will gain new heights in Philippine Television.

ABS-CBN has good marketing and I am very sure they have been studying a good strategy on how to win a bigger audience. But, TV5 is slowly gaining a lot too. And you are right, if only they could widen their range. I am sure that within this year, they could gain a good job in leveling the 2 big networks. Thanks for the response, guys! =) More power to us here in my lot. =)
