I am constantly burping and sometimes I bloat. I hardly breathe and it seems my heart's burning after having meals especially after my supper... I consulted a Doctor last week and I paid 300 Riyals for the consultation fee and for buying the prescribed medicines. Some 3 mats of red capsules and 1 cheap galviscon in a bottle. As prescribed, I consumed and finished the medicines within the given time. I felt relieve during the medication but after it, the pain came back. Now I am worrying. I do exercises but not quite often this time. Before I used to exercise often and I love it and my body like it. After learning that i have a heart murmur, I lessen my exercises that I think this is the cause of getting a slower metabolism.. lol am I saying it right? metabolism-I mean I feel it, I hardly digest the foods that I ate.. lol I also smoke but I think it is just moderate as I don't want to exceed more than 10 sticks a day... lol.. they said over smoking cigarrete could also trigger hyper-acidity and it produces gas.. lol am I saying it right? lol I'm shy of spurring out this infos but it is true.. Maybe you could give me some advice.. thanks

check those things out with a specialist, not just a general practitioner. when it comes to the heart, go to a cardiologist. for your problems in metabolism, try an endocrinologist. with your exercise, you don't have to overstretch yourself. simply follow a cardio exercise, which is good for the heart and will have no adverse effect. to be sure, get the advise of a good exercise mentor. but to not exercise will further aggravate problems with the heart and may also compound your problems with metabolism.

i really love you, cloud. i was surprised, you got me there, even if kumar started the discussion. actually, what i advised kumar is from an actual experience. i just don't want to share what happened... but i ended up with an aeschemic heart... then diabetes followed... but i am now back to normal. thanks to my cardiologist, my endocrinologist, my trainer, and my dietician... well, also my entire family, who've been very supportive. one of these days, i will wash your dishes... it will be payback time...

Nothing to be ashamed about. Perhaps what you are suffering from is called GERD: Gastroesophageal Reflux disease. Usually it is caused by ingesting too much acidic food or drink. Are you a cola lover? A drinker? Your smoking actually contributes to what you are feeling right now. Too much fats, and spicy foods also trigger the reflux/pain/heartburn. Lessen or eliminate the causes, don't lie down or sit down immediately after eating or drinking. Give it 30 minutes after a meal. Exercise in moderation. Have your heart checked because it might be the real problem.

I understand that chili is a main part of your meal, but I don't think you really couldn't eat without it. Some of us can survive without it, so I don't see any reason why you can't although I know that our diet is just as deep as our culture so I understand your predicament on this. All I am saying is that if you can try to lessen it, better yet, eliminate it, it might help you with your symptoms. And yes, have your heart checked when you get home. Get well soon.

Thanks Theresa. You know I am happy today... what was richnai advice really helps... Just like rice which considered to be our staple food, i could also say that chili is a part of it. I know that trying to lessen or setting to eliminate it would really take a long shot for us.. Since childhood, this one I guess built off some of my tissues and I grown up like this.. Yes I am about 6 footer. my vacation is fast approaching and i'll do all i can to finish this pain.. with the help of my family, I know I could do it!! I could apply 5 to six months vacation, that is the maximum alloted for us overseas contract workers.. I know I will finish everything there including my homesickness.. lol.. seeing my family smiles in their faces will make me inspired.. lol thanks..

You just cited a new advice thanks... Actually, to almost all of my meals are added with spices and chili is the main ingredients here. Without the pangent taste on my plate, I don't think I could eat. However, I don't used to eat fatty foods and drink beverages.. I only drink tea very often.. Your adivise of not lying down on bed immediately after meals wasn't new to me. I really do not do this as I know I will end up vomiting or I couldn't breathe... I do exercise in moderation but the idea of checking a good doctor regarding my heart problem has never I done yet. Maybe back home..

Your very post contains lot of solutions. But you are not so motivated to do what is needed like doing exercises, stopping smoking knowing well that it induces hyper-acidity there by producing gases. What to do ? Changing doctors will only a waste of time and money.Your sort problems subside when on medication but do surface back in the absence of medicine. So remedial measures like changing the food habits, more fibre food intake are the needs of the hour.

I understand that sometimes we really need a serious self motivation and deep meditations in order for us to think bigger to attain what we want to happen. Yes changing or only by just consulting a doctor is really a burden. I hope that even with the absence of medicine, my Godly spirit said I could still leave and manage to breathe... lol.. Yes you are right, remedial measures will do best..

maybe you have heart burn.. but im not sure though....Certain foods can aggravate your heartburn symptoms. If you find that you frequently suffer heartburn after eating, it will be helpful for you to limit or avoid completely those foods and drinks that result in acid reflux. The following resources will help you accomplish that. While stress hasn't been linked directly to heartburn, it is known that it can lead to behaviors that can trigger heartburn. During stressful times, routines are disrupted and people may not follow their normal routines in regards to meals, exercise, and medication. It is important to find ways to alleviate the stress, and thus make stress-related heartburn less likely.

wow. you said it well. now i am afraid of getting more stressed. the fact that when i'm stress, i don't know what to do. the things that i should be doing will totally fly away from my mind so I'll smoke as it tends to be my relaxing time.. but actually i hate smoke breaks as it will only impede by boss'business .. as i know in that 5 minutes of smoke breaks in every smoke session will really affect the productivity...

I think it's a reflux disorder. Maybe you should go to a different doctor for another opinion. If it's a reflux disorder, I'm afraid exercising won't really help. Maybe you should eat small frequent meals. Stay away from foods that causes your stomach to become acidic and full of gas.

I think you are right. My friend just told me that eating small amount of foods frequent is the best way to avoid this pains. The problem is, due to heavy work load I could not take a bite time after time.

oh thanks. you said it well. I pray to God that I could quit from it on my own ways.. Consulting an expert I think is a brilliant idea. However, if we can get rid from it alone by ourselves it is better. WE only need to have a strong determination and self motivation.

hi kumar sounds like acid reflux, the stomach acids come up into your throat and can cause sore in your esophagus. stop smoking completely as that may be causing it to worsen then look at your diet and do not eat foods that trigger heartburn also go back to your doctor as you probably need medications for acid reflux disease. Please quit smoking as smoking does not do anything good for your body and does do a lot of harm. good luck and God Bless.

Hi Ms. Hatley, I am so blessed to have a friend like you. I am learning a lot from your posts and comments. I know it is easy to say quit smoking but its hard to do it. Honestly, before I was a chain smoker but I managed to lessen it because of medication. There was a time that I dropped this habit like 2 or 3 weeks. But due to strong temptation, I picked it again and it become worst like smoking to hell. Then during my vacation, i found out that I have a heart murmur so I slowed down again...

It sounds a lot like reflux. The antacids help but they don't cure it. The sores in the esophagus need time to heal properly. (I am not a doctor but I think you may need to modify your diet that may be the key to feeling better all the way around.

when you said modify, is there any exact time to eat- breakfast, lunch and supper.. i use to have my breakfast at 8 sometimes 9. lunch at 2 pm but sometimes i skip so i will just take my dinner as combined luch and supper at 6 or 7.. in between meals, i don't get any food stuff to eat just coffee break...

Hi, Maybe you skip or you are not taking meals on time, this can cause gastric acid as well, you have to keep on track of your time in taking meal as if you feel like your starving and skip your meal that time it lose your appetite and the metabolic rate become slower since you let your stomach empty for sometimes. When food is not available when you're hungry drink lots of water, maybe try to lessen your smoking habit, instead of 10 make it 5 stick/day..Good day!
