Well, I have to say I am very happy with my grades!!! This was my first semester of college, and I was going full time! The lowest letter grade that we can get to pass (get our credits for class) is a C--like it is for high school. And all my grades are passing so yay!! Here are my final scores!!! Psychology - A (My final grade was actually OVER 100%!!! I got 609/600 points!) Child Development - A English 101 - A and, get this COLLEGE SUCCESS COURSE - C (JUST enough! I was actually worried I wouldn't pass that one! So I am very happy) Like I said in another discussion, isn't in nice and ironic I did so well in my other classes and not my college success class? lol Anyways! I wanted to post the happy news and say I got all my credits! Yay! And I have already registered for my next semester, here's my classes: Community Relations English 102 Introduction to Business Introduction to Social Work I can't wait!! Thanks for reading and sharing in my good news!!

Congrats! I just finished my 2nd year at Front Range Community College in Westminster, Colorado. I got an A in Digital Video Editing 1, a B in Photoshop 2, and a B in Web Graphic Motion Design (Flash Animation) 2. So congrats again for your good grades! Keep up the hard work!

Thank you! Congrats to you too!! Photoshop, that sounds like it would be a fun class. What kind of things do you do in that class?

Aww congratulations!!! that is so wonderful. You must be very dedicated and it shows you work hard for it too. Yes its ironic you could get only a C for College Success. I would dispute that one specially when you have straight A everywhere else, and get you money back or credit for new courses. Will you go for some scholarship?

Well as long as I get my 3 credits for my college success class I'm happy. I think I did worse in that class because it was an online class, I guess I just do much better in actual classrooms. I've tried to get money from FASFA, but they said I'm not eligible for ANYTHING...which I think is a load of poo, but not much I can do. I did enter a couple of more creative scholarships, won't hear from them for a couple months. So I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!

I totally understand that. I bet you are so happy now. I am happy for you dear friend. Is so unfair how many institutions love to decline support for good people, who love to show their potential. I love your idea for an animal sanctuary. Hey maybe these links are useful to look into, about scholarship programs? http://www.scholarships.com/financial-aid/college-scholarships/scholarships-by-type/scholarships-for-women/scholarships-for-women.aspx ================ http://www.collegescholarships.org/our-scholarships/women.htm ================ http://www.collegescholarships.org/scholarships/subject-specific.htm ================

Oooo well unfortunately I'm not eligible for that second link, because I'm not majoring in education...but that first link is awesome! The "Possible Woman Foundation International Scholarship" -- I haven't looked deep into it but it says they are interested in women who who give back to their community and who's goals/educations align with their passions...I'll have to see if I'm eligible for that yet! Thanks for the help!

Lily, I remember you discussing the college success course and thought it strange.. Congrats on all your A's and even your C, since it was a subject you were concerned about.. You said this is your first semester? How much longer until you graduate?

Thank you I'm not positive but I might have 3 or 4 semesters left. It might be less though because I'm getting some extra credits for another class I'm taking not associated with my current college and for my summer internship (hopefully).

Keep up the good work. You got good grade in the important subject, that's what counts. Those college success type courses aren't always graded on exacting standards. A lot of times it's more how much the instructor likes your style. I'd probably flunk even though I studied 14 hours a day and made almost all A's.

lol thank you catlady, hopefully no one looks at my C in college success too close if I do well in all my future classes.

Lily, I have two girls in college, too. I always remind them that college is the time to fight for excellence, and thereby shine. I never pressured them to tackle school work with utmost diligence in grade school nor high school, but in college, the pressure is on. The primary reason is, you are what you perform in college. Prospective employers scan through resumes and pick only those with laude after the name. At the University of the Philippines, they give numerical grades so it is easy to compute the average. 1 being the highest, I prod my daughters not to receive grades lower than 1.75. In some subjects though, like Speech, a 2 is the most my younger daughter could get. Give college your best shot!

I am definitely did my best in my classes, and will continue to do so through out my college career. Here we have A's (the best) followed by B and C (both passing) and then D and F (both non-passing). The Numerical grades would probably be confusing to me! lol Thank you!

Okay I get it, but it would still make my head hurt if I tried to think about it too much! lol I don't know how to figure my average, but our websites for the schools do it for us, so yay! lol

Lily, it is probably just assigning an equivalent grade. Your A is our 1, A- is 1,25, B+ is 1.5, B is 1.75, B- is 2 and so on. If you have 6 subjects during the semester, you just divide the total grade by 6 and then you get the average. An average grade of 1 to 1.49 up puts the student on a university scholar status. A 1.5 to 1.75average puts the student on a college scholar status.

Way to go! College is hard, but I actually did better each semester (except for the one I totaled the car during) than the one before. Part of it was I didn't have good study skills when I got there, and it took a while to learn them. Sound like you have them already!

I actually didn't study a whole lot! I DID study for Psychology tests, but there were no tests in my english or child development class. lol But I just understood the class material pretty well! So yay! lol Hopefully I'll do just as well in my future semesters! I am REALLY happy with my schedule next semester! The earliest I'd ever have to wake up is 8:30am...on Mon, Wed, and Fri's I go to school from 10am-12:50pm and on Tues and Thurs I only go from 11:30am-12:45pm! YAY! So hopefully I won't be as tired as much as I was this semester! lol

Congratulations! 4 As and a C. I wish it had been 5 As. Or at least 4 As and a B. But at least it wasn't 4 As and a D or lower. Good luck on your next classes. I see you have English which will improve your writing. Business in case you start your animal/people business. Then social work because people are more complicated than animals. You're covering all your bases for all your interests. Terrific! Great!

Way to be, you are going to rock it hardcore in the coming years, I can feel it. I want to learn all you learn about business. I love business, ethics and what not. I do a side business from my home even, it is loads of fun, I am sure you have heard me yap and yap and yap about it. I like to devour information on it, in spurts. I really should start applying the slight edge more often. An apple a day keeps that doctor away, though, that isn't the same as 7 apples on Sunday. Sincerely, and With Appreciation.
