Why people are afraid of death?

"Death is the termination of the biological functions that define a living organism." -wikipedia What is there to be afraid of? Some people reduce the fear by thinking that they will take rebirth/transmigrate. Are you afraid of death?

Im not afraid of dying no, what scares me is all that i leave behind me my children with no mother for example thats what frightens me so the actual act of dying is no problem for me its who i leave behind that scares me!
