Is giving money to beggars stupid?

It would of course depends on the actual situation. I used to give money, but now I gave changed to actually buying some food or a hot drink to beggars who ask for money because they said they were hungry. The real hungry beggars did not object. If the man was really miserable then you did the right thing. God will return the favour. If he was pretending to be miserable then it depended on youe intention. If youwere sincere then God will still reward you. As a side note there was a beggar in my country who owned a house. The truth came out after the Welfare Department made some investigation. Nowadays begging for money is not allowed in my country. You can still mee several of them but they are foreigners. They play hide and seek with the authorities.

What you did isn't bad. It's just that tolerating them isn't gonna make them get off their butts and look for a job. Maybe next time you'll realize the reason why you don't give money to beggars. It's not bad not giving, It's just that you have a different intentions for them. :)

As far as I am concerned, I do not think it is stupid for us to give the money to the beggars who are usually short of monye or some weak in the society. Sometimes we may think that the beggars are so rcih than ourselves, but at first we just do not know that the beggars are rich, we just regard that they are so weak at first, then it will be so easy for us to give the money to the beggars ,with our own warm heart.
