Do you use Facebook to monetize your blogs?

Yes I am aware that many people (including me) use facebook to promote their business. However I have lost a friend by promoting mine :( so my advice is NOT TO PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS TO YOUR FRIEND/S unless you have made substantial amount of money which gives you proof. What I have learnt so far is that you should find those who are like minded as yours. I created separate facebook account for my friends to interact with them and another to promote my business. You see I found this page 'ADD 5000 friends..' and in my private message to these strangers I wrote 'add me only if you are interested in making money bla bla bla.' However I am too busy to promote :( so I cannot say the success rate of doing this.

My friends or circle of friends are hardly the people I envisioned to be reading my blogs. So, I have a blind spot when it comes to Facebook as a marketing channel. However, I did start a group at Facebook which may be promising enough to use for promotions. Hmm. Come to think of it, I'd rather market my work to thousands of strangers who have no preconception of who I am rather than to a few of my college buddies who probably know enough about me not to care anymore.

I use facebook for games and to rekindle lost friendships. I am not aware that it can be monetized. Thanks for the info.

I'm getting an increase in sales of my services as advocate by facebook. Maybe a little narcissistic, but whatever, the most important, I can be known to the wider community and hopefully they are interested in using my services

Long time no see, and I see a faceoff, literally! No. I dont use facebook much. Somehow it doesnt have an interesting layout! I preferred Orkut to that! Something colorful. :)
