When I was new to the Christian faith, I was having my Bible study before, fellowship twice a week during Saturday and Sundays. And then I was also told to memorize verse. I said, memorize verses huh. That is something new to me. It was really new to me to be memorizing verses that are new to me. It wasn’t easy adjusting to the new faith I found and the new lifestyle I am embracing. But then, I started with one, then two, then three, then another. A lot more then followed. I found it really a training to be doing so. Then afterwards, a lot has been assigned to me. The different verses of the bridge illustration and other familiar verses soon followed. And I find it helpful that time, for I was able to use it whenever a friend of mine is in need of comfort. Then, to my own problems as well. The Words of the Lord has given me always the strength, and the comfort that I needed whenever I am in distressed and in need of something. Well, memorizing verses is sure nice to do to be able to continue in this journey as a Christian. No one can live without it though and even when growing older, we just need it.

Amen, I say to you! Hi jing. I am a Catholic and I admit that I don't memorize verses in the Bible. I know we need to master a few so that we can also evangelize and be fishers of men. What I like about other sects is that bible study is strongly reinforced. There are organizations within our religion that also do such but they only comprise a few people. Majority of us Catholics are weak when it comes to Catechism and are therefore easily swayed to join other sects. Not that I am against that, we all have the right to our own religion, and if they find Jesus in moving out, then that's better. Besides, religion isn't a guarantee of salvation. I do wish Bible study can also be strongly encouraged among the Catholics. And that leaders actively gather the people, and not leave them on their own to find the light by themselves. Continue the faith. God bless

I enjoy memmoriing bible verses. It was always my favorite part of sunday school class as a child. Verses can stay with you longer when you memorize, they are burned into your soul.

I don't memorize verses. I am more concerned with thinking about what they are saying, and trying to do the right thing; make the right choices. People think that by memorizing verses somehow it makes them holy. They like to recite their verses to show off. Look at me I'm a real Christian. I memorized verses. Yay! Here's a cookie. What I've noticed about most people like that is they have no idea what the verse they've memorized actually means.

Yes, I try to memorize verses. It is very important. Especially in times of difficulties, when I remember it, I get encouraged. Or in time of testing, it keeps me out of darkness and keeps me in the light. The word of God is very important, it is our weapon against the enemy. The enemy could not do anything with the word of God. And also, when we know the word, the enemy could not fool us.

Hmmm.. memorizing verses huh?? Well I don't do that but I do read the bible as often as I can. However, sometimes when I face problems or my friends would face any problems the word of the Lord just pop up in my mind. Or even sometimes whilst facing problem and asking God for guidance when I do my daily readings the answer just comes to me. Praise be to Lord, glory to the highest.

Yes, I do. Its part of our battle gear and food for our souls. When I was a baby christian, I realized that I needed not only body nourishment but importantly we ned to feed our souls and that is the word of God. And since I also handle children its very important that I memorize verses so that I can also pass this on to these little children. Its a good way of modelling, its our way of sharing them our lives. Its not ours but also with the strength from the Lord. Thank you for this post jing and have a nice day! Im back to mylotting. Way lingaw man gud. Take care!

memorizing some verse are very helpful in our daily life that w can apply in our action and the way of living , if we verse that memorize you can use it as a tool for every part and situation in our life for example you are facing the big trouble that you face in your life or you really need help or if you are down similarly if you need some encouragement to fight the verse can absolutely help you but not only by looking the word or read the word or memorize the word just do it in action not and ask for the holy spirit to help you understand what is in the verse and believe what is say.
