alternate curse words on myLot...

swearing and cursing are big no-no's in a lot of places. without looking at the guidelines, i'm sure that it's a big no-no here on myLot too. now that i've just looked at the guidelines, it really is no derogatory comments about others, no cursing & swearing, no direct references to human or animal reproductive anatomy when scolding someone. it's something that our parents taught us and our school teachers enforced. but what if you just had a very frustrating experience and you really need to vent.. aaargh..fiddle me fish-sticks! or if you're a sailor you might go: 'blamming blistering barnacles!' and huff and puff all to yourself.. or if you're a son who's angry at your brother but your mother is within earshot: 'why you little mother-lover!' or that lady i heard recently comparing someone to her freaking toes.. it all sounds hilarious when we calm down from our emotional highs. now what's your alternate curse words? or have you seen any cool ones lately? what are your kids saying? please..please now, let's keep it clean please.. no actual curse words or expletives please. just the clean & funny alternatives that make us all laugh.. so keep it to bloomin' poo-poo's and frickedgin' fish-tarts... or whatever your kids are saying now days..

Hi Mario, lol I very rarely swear but in the London area they use cockney rhyming slang for swear words a lot of the time an example is 'he is just a Berkshire Hunt' or she has a fine pair of 'Brad Pitts' Huggles. Ellie :D

You know my daughter's on a website where they even have a lot of the alternate curse words filtered out. And they get pretty clever trying to get around them too. My daughter threw one word at me and I had no idea what she was saying. But mine are pretty tame, darn and durn and curses and like that....

crop for crap, bench or beach for b*tch, sheet for sh*t and flock for f*ck... (I have the source here)... But whichever one she used, I didn't recognize it.

LOL! I try very hard not to swear, especially since my little one is a total mimic and will repeat it incessantly, especially if she thinks she is not supposed to. When I get frustrated, I usually say something like "that stupid, stinking, freaking thing"! It really doesn't sound all that bad, does it? Believe me, though, it sounds a lot worse when I use my "angry voice"! There is a commercial on T.V. that is for some gum, and the slogan is something like "it gets rid of a dirty mouth". A woman walks in and finds her husband with another woman, and they all start arguing. They say things like "you cootie queen" and "you lint licker you" and "kumquat" (which really does sound rather dirty, but it is just a fruit or a fruit-bearing tree). I think the commercial is pretty funny.

Mario, if I see the commercial again I will try to remember which gum it is for and look for a link, so you can see what I am talking about.

I found it! I found it! This link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEJJUGJZxpU is a brief video of the whole commercial, but it gives you the general idea and has the ones that I have listed here.

hehe... back during my schooldays, we all had to find alternative ways at voicing our rebellious displeasure at the school authorities..we used alternates like 'purple panty robbers' to replace more vulgar terms. it was quite common. especially when you couldn't just beat the beejeezes out of a bloomin bully..or throw watchamacallits or thingamajiggys at them. ahh...the creative ways of youth..

when did you change your avatar? .... now, this is one of the %$%#%$^% topics, after the fluff joke. Why do you start this? .. ------------------------ in our local films, there was once a trend to modify the actual curse words, into the style what you were discussing here... like, the lover words... but, the censors soon caught up with the trend, and dis allowed them too. there was one instance, where the cute heroine shouts at every annoying incident dumm, duckk, dalee ... which, when pronounced in a very speed usage, and translated into local slang.. is one of the worst bad-words... " his mother, his sister and his wife.. " that is the translation to english.. do you call this innovation? .. or mockery of the tease?

What i love is "You little!!.....",, LOL, i love HOMER!!..Hmm, i dont even want to use curse words in myLot, since its kinda harsh and disrespecting.
• Malaysia

'doh..!' haha..yup, curse words are definitely very disrespectful but it's always cool how the cartoons managed to pull of alternative curse words in a funny way. they get the meaning across, minus the harsh impact of using real curses..

What a fun idea for a discussion! Well, here in the UK, it is quite common to begin to say a curse word beginning with 'sh' only to replace it with 'Sugar!' so that's a good one. I dislike swearing and rarely do it myself, especially not the strongest swear words, I don't mind mild ones too much. One word I use which can sound really aggressive, but is actually fine to say is "PIGLETS!" That can work to get rid of anger well, but of course, the word itself is fine - even cute! Then there is 'flip' or 'flipping' too.

aarrgggh!....shuugar me piglets! can't take them flip flippidy noses in my business no more..! did that come out right? haha..it sounds kind of cute. i'll be gosh darn laughing my tushie off if i hear someone yelling that way at me.. hehe
