i get alot of flack from folks for not taking supplements.. trying instead to get all of my nutritional needs from natural foods instead of a synthetic pill. im an avid label reader.. from the caloric content to sodium and all the vitamins & minerals down the grid. others tell me its a waste of time and energy.. just pop a pill.. its easier. feh after reading this article.. http://www.aolhealth.com/2010/05/26/herbal-supplements-often-have-contaminants-study-shows/?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl3|link6|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aolhealth.com%2F2010%2F05%2F26%2Fherbal-supplements-often-have-contaminants-study-shows%2F i have more reason than ever to forego "easy" and stay on the healthier path. do you know what yer putting into yerself? do you go the easy route and reach for a bottle of vitamic C instead of a handful of strawberries? herbal capsules to boost yer immune system instead of just simply adding fresh garlic to yer cooking?

Hey Tessah! You method is natural, healthy and safe. You keep on doing just what you're doing. I am a nurse and so many times those supplements contain other stuff that isnt so good for you. Take sugar substitute for example. Not exactly a supplement but a good example. Every switched from the natural sugar to splenda, sweet n low, Equal. These bring on other health risks. Its better to do what people have done for hundred of years. Eat healthy foods that contain natural vitamins. DOnt change you doing just fine. dl

my respects ... dloveli.. you are truly the lovely! ... when the body is rejecting something.. why bother it with supplements? .. like in the case of the sugar in diabetes? ... you said that right. It is better to do what people have done for hundreds of years. BE NATURAL .... and, It does not cost you much to be NATURAL !!! right?

Consult I love you! You have said it all. If I could carry you around in my pocket I would. You are great for my ego! However, we are right. Why spend when you can get it from nature and free? Any helpful hints PM me. dl

thanks for the compliments. i am HONORED truly.. for the private messaging, one need to be friends with the other! The last line is my quote .. which is PRINTED on a wonderful poster, with a RHINO eating grass photo as background.. I hang that behind my chair, in my consultation room. How is that?

I am so right there with you. My problem-- My husband is a pill popper UGH!!! He would rather pop a pill than eat the healthy foods I try to prepare. He doesn't want to share in a healthy eating atmosphere. He sees no problem with fast food, processed junk, and sugar drinks. He brings them home regularly and shares with our small son. I am just starting on this healthy path but have always been reluctant to take a pill for every ailment or supplements.
