what does nirvana means?

most friends i asked answered me that nirvana is complete happiness...can we possibly have this?how?

Well, aren't there 7 steps or something to Nirvana? I forget how that worked..I studied that about 5 years ago, so maybe that's why. 
. I don't know about nirvana necessarily, but I think happiness in general is a state of mind, and anyone, in any country, with any job, and almost any situation - can achieve it. It's all about your outlook on life.
