A poem/song a friend of mine and I wrote years ago. We were.... around 12 years old at the time. Best work we ever wrote we did as a team. There was a time When I thought we would be together forever There was a time When I thought your love was true Why did you have to go away I wish that you had stayed I can't live without you Why did you leave me alone I will never forget you You were the only one And in the darkness I see you I run and I run but your not there I search the world over but your not anywhere I can't live without you Why did you leave me alone I will never forget you You were the only one And I sit by my window wondering where you are Please, Please, Please Don't leave me alone In the Dark

Nice. Sounds almost like a sheet of mucsic lyrics when you read it.. ya know?

I actually sing it to my daughter all the time. It is one of her favorite lullaby's. And you are right, even written out it does show that it is best adapted for music as opposed to a reading.

Nice, looks more of a song then a poem to me. I think it will sound even better, if composed. You do compositions as well ? Philosophically, we all gona go alone, depart ultimately, so better be prepare for it ;)

Very deep for 12. My only question is who's heart got broken because I'm definitely reading some pre-teen love angst here. Was it you or her or both? Did you you ever show the person who it was about the poem/song? Just curious!
