Why do smart, articulate, and self-confident people often becaome terrified in front of a group? How could death rank just seventh in a national survey of the top ten experiences Americans dread most, and public speaking first? Think about it: We'd rather kick the bucket than address an audience!

The remedy to this is to try speaking to a smaller group and work your way out to a bigger one. The hardest part is how to start speaking. Your est weapon is to study and master what your saying. The biggest mistake that we can do when speaking with a large audience is that we know very little about what we are discussing.

Hi Boyetski, Truly! We must know much about what we are to say, otherwise the worse thing will happen to us when we are doing presentation in front of so many people and feel awkward. I got that kind of experience so I know that feeling, so embarrassing. Be prepared, whenever we get these things to do.

Yeps.. I myself am trying to speak in large number of audience and not only that.. Tha hardest thing is to convince them to a product that is totally foreign to them.. But if I were to convince 10% of the people who listened, it will be a great accomplishement for me

Nearly everybody I know has problems with stage fright. I do not. By a process that I still do not understand, I was chosen to be Master of Ceremonies at my high school talent show. It was my first (and only) year at that school and hardly anybody knew me, so I can't see how they picked me. I was terrified at the beginning. I had a stranglehold on the mike stand with both hands, and was sure I was going to look like a fool. Or worse. But a couple of minutes after I started I told a joke and people laughed. I told another and everybody laughed. And that was it. The key was getting the audience to respond. Once that happened, I found I really liked it. I have never been afraid to get up in front of a group since then.

Hi there, Your experience is really amazing! I never got that chance to speak in front of so many people in public, and what I am afraid is just monthly meeting in my company or even smaller group of talking. I remember last time when I was doing my presentation in the meeting, I couldn't control myself at first. As you say, a few of my words made them laughed and I got better, however, unfotunately, the presentation ended there. Anyway, I got that experience and wana have a chance to be better next time.

I think it is a common fear, to speak in front of a big crowd. But then preparation is key to success and that is why the speaker should master the topic he'll be discussing and be prepared with any questions that the audience might ask.
