I got my first computer about 1985. It was made by Radio Shack. It had no permanent memory. It had to be programmed in BASIC for anything you wanted to do. I sit down at the dining room table to eat. My wife and daughter rarely do. They take their plates into the living room, in front of the television. It is an odd way to do things, but we all accept it and everybody does what he or she wants. |

Tolstoy and Dostoevsky? Good for you. War and Peace is excellent but it is huge. If you want something that is not quite so long, try Anna Karenina. For Dostoevsky, Crime and Punishment is a good place to start. I have read nearly all of the "classic" authors and there is a good reason they are famous. The only one I have no use for is Proust.
