What dreams mean...?

Okay well here is a dream that really tripped me out. A few years ago I had a dream about really close friend of mine, (I only knew him closely not his family), and his family. In my dream, I remembered seeing a bunch of people which looked to be his family but I can't remember seeing any faces. But these bunch of people looked like they were all having fun at a wedding. In my dream I had taken him to the wedding and dropped him off. Then I don't recall any transition just that next I saw all those same people all very sad at a cemetary, every one there was sad, except my friend, who was not crying. And I noticed his mother wasn't there. Funny because I didn't know why I would have noticed that because I didn't know his mother at all. The next day I couldn't get it off my mind and I couldn't figure out why. Because I wasn't going to tell him "hey I had a dream of your mother dying" just because I dreamed it up. That was just wrong. I thought. I finally decided to call him and just tell him something inside made me feel better doing so. So I did and I apologized for doing it, and he said that it was okay. We all have strange dreams from time to time. A year later, exactly, I could almost say to the same week in the month. If I would have written down the date. He called me up and asked me if I would drive him and his mother to a wedding of his cousin. Having forgotten all about my dream the year before, I thought nothing of it. Picked them up and dropped them off at their family wedding. A few days later he was with me and he got a phone call from his sister, saying he needed to come down to the hospital, that is mother was out of town at a casino with her sister and had an asthma attack and was in the hospital. So I dropped him with his family at the hospital where they could be there with her. A couple days later, she died. Not in the hospital, but in his arms. She had another asthma attack and her air passages closed up. He was getting ready to take her to the hospital, when she was so short of breath she fainted in his arms as they were walking out the door. And as he tried to help her breath by cpr the ambulance was on its way. That is when she died. His brothers and sisters were very distraught but he was emotionless throughout it all. Just like in my dream. I just posted something about another dream. But this is a different situation. Was it just a coincidence? I definitely wasn't thinking about this stuff before I slept that night.

It's a startling coincidence, but I say don't give much thought to it. If you start interpreting your dream (and that would depend on what you were going through at that time) perhaps you would realize that the dream actually means something very different.

I think you should see if your other dreams come true before making a judgement about your future telling abilities. However, I must admit that this is a pretty rare coincidence.

Eerie, I'll admit. I don't really think that dreams can tell the future. There have been people who've reported having a dream and then having something similar happen in reality, and then claim their dreams have come true. I'd hesitate before you said that. I often have dreams about things that I certainly wasn't thinking about before I went to sleep. Sometimes something happens in a dream and then something similar happens in life. Most times nothing in my dreams ever seems to happen. When you dream your brain is dishing out tons of possible and impossible scenarios, uninhibited by logic. I heard a theory once that deja vu happens because your brain has already envisioned a scenario in a dream. Your brain is a super-computer, after all.

Thats crazy. I know I have ahd dreams and felt like they happen later on. I remember having a dream being in the car with my grandmother at a stop sign on her street and a man passed by on a bike and we almost hit him. And a few months later it happen axactly like that. I know in my psychology class in college it is said that dreams are just visions of your daily thought and concerns. i dont think it really applies to your or my dream, but maybe its deeper then what we think. Good luck with that.
