This photo is of some of my sweet corn I have planted. Due to a late frost I though the first planting died so I planted more. Now they are all popping up. I have about 60 stalks growing that I can see so far. Just a rough guess as I stopped counting at 45. Guess I'll have an abundant supply of sweet corn this year huh? Once done growing I save the plants and use them as Fall decorations for my yard out front. Do you have any corn growing? Do you use the dead stalks as decorations later in the fall? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Hey Hatley, why don't you suggest it? It would give some of the more active residents there something to do.

You know, I have never raised corn. I do not eat it real often but I like the little bitty kind. I think you show great ingenuity saving the stalks for yard decoration.

A bale or 2 of hay or straw with some of my acorn squash and corn stalks make for great decorastions for Halloween, Thanksgiving and fall. Even a neighbor asked for a few of mine for the same purpose. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I didn't bother planting any corn this year since something got them before they had a chance to grow very big the last couple years.

That's fine for you, with your vast estates, but I only have a postage stamp.

I am just NOT that creative. But corn on the cob is one of the very few foods that the entire family can actually agree upon!
