(Dog Bite) I got a visit from the Community Police officer Liz today she was the one who came round that Sunday to take care of this to see that I am ok Well I told her I am a bit upset because I had not heard anything, she informed that it looks like it is going to court, that this Lady had a very bad attitude, apparently she was very rude and also said that she is not happy that I "kicked" her Dog Liz told her no disrespect but if it had been her or her Dog it had attacked she would have kicked it to, anyway the Woman still insisted to arrest her then and she will take her chances in court, the Dog came through to the Living Room and went over to Liz, put his head by her Leg she went down to stroke him and went for her (which went straight into the report) the Owner just sat there and said "Oh he nearly bit you" and that is all she did So Liz told her that she was of to the Police Station to put her report in and that they will be arresting her, she just said "Yeah Fine" Liz said this Woman has a very bad Attitude, anyway within half an hour she was arrested and kept in a Cell for 6 hours But the best bit and I informed Liz of this while she was here THE DOG WAS OUT YESTERDAY WITH NO LEAD, SHE WAS THERE TO One of my Neighbours took her 2 Dogs to the Field and the Spaniel started growling and barking about to go for the Dogs but the Owner picked him up and just walked away no sorry, nothing I think that my Neighbour will be reporting this to So that is the latest on the Dog Bite Would you risk a Dog like that

Obviously the woman is not brain surgeon..in fact maybe they should do a brain scan and see if she has any activity up there....I would not risk my dog like that...you are supposed to love them and keep them safe.

I'm actually glad that the police lady got to see some of the dogs "bad" behavior. It is now in her report what happened to her with the dog and that can not and will not be disputed by the courts. It would be great if the others in the park would report the dog it would add more to the case making it stronger. Even though I don't really think it's needed with the police lady having her say. If my dog had behaved that way. I'd at least try getting him or her to a trainer and see if I could calm down the dogs "attitude problem". He needs to have some formal schooling and be taught how he should act. If this did not work then I'd have to do something with him. But I would not have him around to hurt anyone. For me to say I'd do this or even to do it would be so hard for me as I get very attached to my animals. They are family. But even if a child does wrong they must be taught what to do that is right. And if they do wrong then consequences of their actions will be made for them. Also, I never have my dogs out without being on a leash. You have much more control over what they do and don't do.

Hi Moondancer I agree with you there but it looks like she is just not bothered at all she doesn't care and that is how I see it I hope they forbid her to ever have a Dog again as she is not responsible enough to own a Dog

I agree with you on that. I can understand her defending her dog as she cares for him probably as much as we do ours but she has seen his behavior and should have the mind to know that he needs something. I know I would. She should take measures the correct his behavior and make him a better one than to ignore what he's doing.

That dog owner must be totally insane. You mean she had the dog out without a lead and without a muzzle??? Mindboggling!!! If that dog owner lived here, she would not have that dog at this time. The dog would have been taken from her and placed in a shelter until the outcome of the trial. Actually, she would probably not get the dog back even then because it will be proven that the dog has bitten someone (you) and that it tried to attack that police officer. The dog would most likely have been euthanized because it is dangerous. I'm not entirely sure about that but I do know that years ago, I heard that any dog brought into the A.S.P.C.A., if it had bitten anyone, would be euthanized. They don't even try to train the dogs. No matter what, she should not still have that dog! Can you or your neighbor tell the police that she had the dog out again without a lead or muzzle and it tried to attack again? Oh, right, you said your neighbor would be reporting it. Hopefully, that will be enough to have the dog removed from this woman's, uhh, "care". (Lack of care is more precise.) She has to be insane. That's the only explanation I can think of for her to have that dog out without a lead or muzzle. How is your leg doing? I hope it's fairly healed by now. I'm sure it will take awhile before it stops hurting completely because that was a nasty bite. Puncture wounds like that hurt for quite some time because they've damaged the underlying muscle.

Hi Marti This woman is certainly insane and I believe she does not care a hoot about the Dog I wish they would remove him from her and see if they can train him, I do feel sorry for the Dog I really do but he is not safe to be around My leg is starting to heal but still painful at times, specially when I knock it on the bed frame or slam the door on it , or dry my leg and forget about it, now that was sore lol, the Calf is still quite sore at times but that will take a while the puncture wounds at times sting a lot but the bruising is starting to go away now

I know that cockers tend to bite, but this is the total fault of the owner, she has no business not keeping control of her animal and this will end up in a bad way for both, the dog will likely be put down and the woman fined. A very sorry end to the whole business.

Gabs, I think You know how I feel about dogs and cats too, but honestly I've always saId I'd not have a bad dog who'd hurt a flea........ So, no, I'd have the dog put down before he hurt anybody else. It would break my heart but there is something seriously wrong with this dog other than just rage. hugs, quita

You are right. I just don't have a good answer for either the owner or the dog. the owner sounds like a real piece of trash. The dog, bless it's heart could have been trained to lash back too. One just never knows how an owner treats their animals til they show it. I hate this mostly for you but I also hate it for the dog cuz this dog is doomed to be put down if he does any further harm. I have to say you are dealing with this quite well. hugs, quita

That is so sad. I wonder if the dog gets his bad attitude from his owners? I do not like the idea of the dog being put to sleep, but I certainly do not like the idea of it running the streets, either.

No she shouldn't be allowed to have a dog. She needs to be put in jail herself to think things through for a little while.

i do believe that there isn't badly trained dogs, they are dogs with no training, but belong to badly trained owners. Spaniels are usually a very friendly breed, so its possible the dog is unwell and irritable because it needs to see the vet. e.g.toothache, earache, mange, sore joints the list is endless. i had a very ancient alsation/labrador. As he got older he got more irritable and didnt like small children or other dogs. this was because of health problems. He had been born with dislocated hips , and we owned him from about 18 months old. He was going to be put down as his owners had split up. He had his operation and then we took him home. When he eventually went to the big kennel in the sky, he was blind, deaf, he'd had a stroke(recoverd) and was having regular injections for his rheumatism. but his quality of life was poor. As i was aware of his problems with people and children in general, if they turned up to visit, he either went in the back room with a biscuit, just so he knew he wasn't in trouble, or in the garden in his kennel.

This woman is wacko in the head! Stay far away from her because there is something wrong mentally with her. Who in their right mind would take this dog out without a leash or muzzle? She knows what her dog is like but she's too nutsy to see what's happening in front of her face, or she doesn't care. Unfortunately, because of her actions and the dog's actions, the courts might rule that it be put down. She could have tried some training to see if that would have helped, which I doubt, but in the very least, kept a leash/muzzle on the dog! So as far as I'm concerned, she doesn't even care what happens to the dog. She's only looking to spout off and make you look bad, which is going to backfire on her completely. DON'T DO IT and end up feeling sorry for her or what the consequences are going to be for this dog. He's a biter anyway you look at it, whether he bites an adult or child. The dog should be locked up for the moment until this is over so he doesn't roam the neighborhood anymore, and I can't understand why she is still allowed to keep it with her. I'm really pi$$ed off right now and would like to bang heads with her, ugh!!!!

She's about a hardhead to keep letting that dog run loose. I think she needs to be locked away. hope your leg is better. Holy crow gabs, are you okay? How is the bite healing? I am sorry for the spaniel as there is no such thing as bad dog behavior but bad dog handling. The dog is not being treated properly and so is why it is acting out. I hope that the dog can be adopted out to someone who will have some time for it. I know of a dog who was considered a biter, to small boys because his first owner who was a small boy mistreated him badly. When I took the dog out, over a years time regularly, we bonded and gained a level of mutual trust. I can take that dog into any park with kids, both boys and girls, off leash too and he is not going to bite anyone. So I hope that for the dogs sake he gets a lease on life and given a forever loving home instead of being stuck with that witch. I hope she gets nailed but good. Perhaps when it goes to court it can be advised that the dog be removed from the home and placed for adoption? Can you make that request? Spaniels are usually great family dogs, friendly and loving. I am so sorry to hear this happened to you gabs. I sure hope that you get through this without any complications.

Hi EvrWonder I agree with you it is the Owner she already proved she did not care for the Dog when she chose to tke the chances with the Court instead of the Option that I chose to keep the Dog under control I don't know what will be decided, it hurts me to think that he might be put down, when in a sense it is not his fault I did have a bad time for 2 weeks but this week I have been ok, I love Dogs all my Life I have had a Dog, my little Boy is a rescue Dog who was petrified because he was beaten he is now the most loving, carefree and friendly Dog any one could wish for Why do People get pets when they do not care for them It is out of my Hands now, it will now be up to the Judge nobodies fault but her own she chose this option

Dogs are not violent or aggressive unless they have been taught to behave that way. I can't say I'm surprised that this person's dog is aggressive. I'm guessing but I reckon it's safe to say the dog has been abused and mistreated. He needs to be rehoused and retrained or maybe even put down if it's found there is nothing medically wrong to induce these attacks.

It's no wonder the dog is like that if the owner is like that. I nearly got bit this weekend. I went to see my grandmother. My uncle, her son, lives next door. He bought his dog Black Jack over at my request. Black Jack used to be really friendly with everyone. Last year he nipped my face, and my lip bled. I believe it was because I was going to pick him up, and me not being a regular visitor, he felt threatened. Totally my fault. But this weekend, he came over, and I petted him. A little while later he rolled on his tummy, and I bent to pet his tummy, with one hand so I would not appear threatening. He rolled back around and lunged at my hand. My uncle was shocked. My grandma said he had done that to her too. I believe it is because Black Jack has had no socialization since my uncle's daughters have cut off communication three years ago. He sees no one but my uncle, and my grandma when my uncle brings him over. He kills squirrels and leaves them at the gate as a present for my uncle. Black Jack is not around any kids, so that's good.

This woman is incredible! The dog even went for the Police Officer and she didn’t even react; that one will go down well for her defence! I do feel sorry for this poor dog but he does sound way too dangerous to be out and about amongst other people and dogs especially without a lead. Surely the woman’s case will not go well for her in court. The dog should not be with her anymore, it should be taken from her while there are preparations for the trial. I fear he may have to be put to sleep if he is so vicious and that is very sad but so is what happened to you and Gissi. I hope your leg is doing better. Keep us posted gabs, don’t worry this woman is crazy!
