Names of your children

Do you like the names you've chosen for your children? I'm pretty happy with the names I chose for my children, they seem to fit them pretty good. I only have a little problem with my daughters name, which is Casey, because a lot of people think by her name alone, she is a boy, if I had to do it over again I would name her something a little more feminine. So, what about every one else, do you think your childrens names fit them? If you don't have children yet, what do you think you will name your future children?

Well, he is,, he goes by t.j. his intials. Started that when he was little , good thing since he hates his name. Bob, huh, o.k. Bob he is. That's pretty cute him buying shirts like that. I guess most everyone calls him Bob then.I think josh is prettier then bob.

LOL, you'd think since he has "BOB" on most of his shirts, but the only ones who actually call him Bob are the people who don't know him.

LOL Antique Lady, I like how you say that, he's stuck with it!! So you have 2 boys, eh?? Me and hubby have 4 boys and a girl and the odd thing with mine are, my son Josh, who I adore his name, wishes I had stuck him with Bob!! I'm like "Bob, are you kidding." Now, as a grown man, though he's fine with Josh now, he loves to go to the Thrift Stores and find work shirts with the name Bob on them. Such an odd one that boy!! Most of my friends and relatives are always on the lookout for Bob shirts when they are out and about at Flea Markets and Yard Sales, it's actually quite funny how many shirts he has with the name on it.

I named my first born son Tyler, no particular reason just really liked the name and it suits him well. My daughter was named Katrina, after a little girl that I cared for for some time and almost adopted. But, the state decided to give the little girl's mom another chance at being a mother. My husband named my second son Dustin, 3 days after he was born and after much deliberation I finally gave up. As for my third son, we thought he would was going to enter the world a girl and picked out the name Ryan for her. But, he turned out to be a boy and my husband and I decided on Alexander, as I didn't like the name Ryan for a boy.

One of my favorite names is Ryan also, and I really like it more for a girl also, but for a boy I like it more for a middle name. When my grandson was born, I knew I couldn't change "daddies" mind about the first name, which is Dante, but he said the 2nd name was negotiable. I tried to get them to go with Dante Ryan or even Steven, which is daddies middle name. And so did the other grandmother. Neither one of us liked the middle name he was given, which, is Danger. When the nurse came in and asked my daughter what the babies name was going to me and the other grandmother held our breaths until my daughter finally said "Dante Danger Trent" we both just shook our heads...lets hope he doesn't try to live up to his name!

I think some names can be used for a female or a male. My friend's brother is called Jody and many females are called that. I know a female called Casey and think it is a lovely name for either gender. I called my daughter Amber and it was one of the names I considered during my pregnancy. I think that name suits her. I call her Ambie Pambie as a nick name. We had a challenging time trying to decide what to name my second son. I couldn't agree with the name Teo. I tried the name Leo and it was accepted. My second son is disabled and he is a brave little boy. I think Leo is a fitting name for him. With my first son we had a nightmare trying to decide on his name. I said no to the suggestions of Fox, Raven and Rex. We settled on Ryan and that name has become too popular I feel. He is stuck with that name.

It's funny how nicknames come about isn't it? I have a neice named Candice Elaine and I've always called her Candy Cane, and then my sisters name is April, but somehow she got a nickname of Abigail. But I love the name Ryan, it is however a very popular boys name. And sometimes that is a nuissance in itself, as I have a Cody and Joshua and those names are also so used. But Leo for you younger son is fabulous, especially with whatever he is having to deal with. And who can't love the name Amber...such a lovely little girls name...when Casey was pregnant with her daughter she had a name picked out of Amberly Rayne but then let me choose the babys name and so she got Cicilia Emma as a name, and now 2 years later my daughter says she absolutely cannot picture Cicilia as anything but a Cicilia.

I don't think that I would have possibly been able to find more appropriate names for my children. My daughter, Kathryn, was named after one of my great aunts who was one of the most gentle-hearted people that I've ever known in my life. And, my daughter is very much the same way. My son, Paul, was named after a friend of mine from college how had a great personality and was a friend. So far, my son shows many of those same characteristics as well.

I was blessed with being able to name my first granddaughter and I knew right away I was going to name her after my aunt, who too was a very great person, she did things her way, but she bent when she had to. She was the greatest mother figure I ever had. So my granddaughter got her first name, Cicilia. I chose Emma as her middle name just because it has become such a popular name and because I do like it. If something happens and Cicilia is just too "old fashioned" for her (although, isn't the name Emma just as "old"?) she'll have Emma to fall back on. I wanted to name my grandson too. But his daddy got that privilege. I'm not thrilled with it, but it is a nice and pretty unusual name. His first name is Dante. It's his middle name I have more of a problem with and I hope he doesn't try to live up to it. His middle name is Danger. So, even though my screen name is Cicisnana, I am nana to Cicilia Emma and Dante Danger.

I have to admit that I absolutely love the name Casey though I would use it for a boy though a lot of typical boys names are being used as girls names these days. My friends daughter is called Haiden which my boy cousin is also called and so I grew up knowing that to be a male name. It took only a short while before I got used to it and like it as a girls name now too. I had a list of about 80 names when I was pregnant and my daughters name wasnt actually on it! We found out through the 20 week scan that she was a girl and the name Aimée simply popped out of nowhere and just seemed right and still does. I didnt forsee the problem with having to spell out the name to doctors etc though as people will automatically spell it Amy. The other top names before we chose Aimée where Chloe and Katie and although I still love those names they really do not suit our daughter. It is what you get used to I guess which makes you not be able to see them with another name.

I absolutely love the name Aimee, and the way you spell it, but I can assume that many doctors, teachers, etc. want to use Amy, but Amy was already used by a neice so I didn't want to use it. In fact, all the girls names that I just adored were already used by most of my neices, Brandy, Heather, Kimberly, etc. etc. And the names I liked, my husband didn't, Stephanie and Katelynn. When Casey was a few months old I heard the name Chloe and loved it, but, by then it was too late. Casey is 20 now, so I have definitely got used to the name and couldn't imagine her being named anything else, but I do wish I had named her something a little more feminine. Actually her daddy named her after some very close friends whose last name was Casey, so that's why it was spelled like that and not Kayci, or Kacey.
