Search engine optimization is considered very important if you are to make some money form your website but is the real purpose of SEO to make money? Or there is something else for which this technique is meant.
In my opinion the major and primary reason one should know the techniques of SEO is that knowing the behavior of search engines especially the major ones like google, yahoo and bing is of ultimate importance in surviving in the internet community.

Hi,
Whether you want to earn from your blog or web site or not, it's advisable to use as much seo as you can. Afterall search engine optimistation is primarily done to make it easier for visitors using search engines to find your site or blog.
The whole point of putting something online is for others to see it, so yeah, whether your site is monetised or not you still want people to visit it, so you still do the same thing when it comes to attracting those visitors whether you plan to earn from them or not.
