Have you heard about CVS.....its Computer vision syndrome...caused due to prolonged use of computer... We use computer in our day to day life..myLotting for example...then have you ever considered caring your precious eye..from strain....irritation .... Actually I heard that, there is no scientific evidence that computer screens are harmful to eyes...but still we have to take care... So I have got anti-glare spectacles...Do you own one??... atleast use screen filters.... all responses welcomed... have a great day/night.......

Herro sagar21 I have worn glasses since I was child. I am now up to trifocals. I use my bifocal for the computer because I use a laptop in my lap. I do have the reflective coating on my glasses. There is always an extra charge for it, however, I want my eyes to last as long as possible. Prosperous mylotting

LOL...I care about extra charges. My income would have to double for me to make the poverty line and I really cannot afford such expenses. I see fine when on the computer. I normally wear prescription glasses but never when on my computer. Since I work on my computer in bed, glasses would get in the way and get knocked off by my pillows very easily. When I worked for the State of Alaska, they had special screens to put over the computer monitors that cut down on the glare. If I could find one of those for my computer, that I might get...but would have to save up for. :)

Herro alaskanray Thank you for reminding us that not everyone has income for niceties. Even though we planned fo9r our retirement, inflation and pay-raises dependent on cost of living, we have to plan our expenses carefully. Prosperous mylotting

i do wear.. and CVS is quite true. one shouldn't stare at the monitor continuously for hours. just look away and stare off into the distance every once in a while. it'll help reduce the stress to the eyes.

I have a pair of prescription eyeglasses but I hardly ever wear them. I used to wear them all the time when I worked in data entry because I had to be able to read tiny print. I also have a pair of prescription sunglasses that I never use as I can see well without them.

I think computer screens someways still could harm our eyes' vision. Afterall it emits radiation that can harm/alter/mutate almost any cell types in our body, including the ones that made up our eyes. Scientific studies help greatly in our continuing effort to know more about the effects of prolonged radiation regarding our eyes. If UV rays somewhat can cause damage to our eyes, so are Lcds' and CRT monitors that are the output devices of our home computers.Their only difference is that UV rays can cause damage by the minute if you stare directly upon the sun while radiation damage from computer screens can take weeks, months, even years to be noticed.

i do wear spectacle while working on the computer.. i do realise that the lighting condition and the angle of the computer screen somehow can cause eye strain and pain if its not adjusted correctly.. i actually have a screen which according to the instruction will protect the eyes and its not that cheap either just that its a piece of transparent sheet.. im not sure about this material either as i can still feel the rays direct into my eyes as if there are not much difference at all.. or is it some invisible harmful rays that is being filtered off already and the brightness doesn't matter? im not sure..

Spectacles - Do you wear one? :)
I've been using eyeglasses for eight years now and I wear it whenever I need to read books, write, or read/work in my computer. I won't be able to see what I'm reading or doing quickly without my eyeglasses. As far as I know I'm near-sighted and I have a high astigmatism, I doubt if my eyesight can still be corrected because my the grade of my eyesight is pretty high. Well, we should really take good care of our eyes. Cheers! Honey

I have spent a lot of time using computers for many years and I have always tried to take care of my eyes while doing so. I use anti-glare screens and also have progressive lenses so that I don't have to tilt my head in an unnatural position while working.

I have been using computer for a long time now and my job deals with computer everyday but I still don't use eye glasses or any protection in my eyes. So far I have no problems with my eyes. I think it depends on how you use your computer. As much as possible use only LCD monitors. It causes less irritation in the eyes compared with the good old CRT. Anti glare is a must if you are still using CRTs. And also eat healthy foods especially those rich in vitamin A.

lol.. I eat a lot of vitamin A rich vegetables like pumpkins. :) They help I guess. I use the computer for 10+ hours and I don't have eye defects.
