With vets being so costly I can see why animals shelters are so full people these days can afford to give them the care they desire not all states have low income vets either I know my daughter and her husband and kids had to make a tough choice when it came to their 8 year lab she got very ill the vet said she would have to remain in clinic and they would have to run tests to see what was wrong with her which would have been so costly or they could put her down since she has been with them all her life they made the choice of putting her down cause they could not afford the other I feel rich or poor every one should be able to have a pet I feel all animals should be intital to health care and not be turned alway because of lack of money to pay just like people here in amercia should have medical care no one should be made to suffer because of no money. What do you think

I agree with you on all counts. What a shame that your daughter and her family had to go through this. I agree with you that all people and animals should have health care and not be turned away due to not having the funds to pay for the care. Its a shame when a family has to put down their pet for lack of funds when the costs at the vet is outrageous. In this day a age with the economy the way it is I have heard alot of people have had to give up their pets because they could no longer afford to feed or take care of them. Its a shame what is happening to these animals and its just not right.

I know what is happening in the world I hope many more people feel the same it would be nice to hear their stories or their opinion on this matter can we ever fix it just think if every one can afford to have a pet the shelters would be least crowd just think if every one when they got sick could go to the doctors thanks for your reply

You know when I was growing up, we always had a pet and we had very little money. I know that we couldn't afford medical care for our pets and I'm not even sure whether or not we were able to get them yearly shots. I always remember our animals being healthy and living quite long. Any vet worth his degree wouldn't turn down an animal that was in pain. After all, they go into that field because of their love for animals and if I had a vet that wouldn't work with me on those kinds of issues, I wouldn't want them to be my vet.

your so right about that finding a caring vet is so very hard to do when they all are worried about cost if you find one let me know

When I was young having an animal as a pet was so different from today. The vet trusted you and you could have an ongoing bill with them. Now days you have to pay up immediately or else. I am glad they have vet insurance now. I feel that animals should suffer because their owners don't have the money to take care of them. And in a humane society they should have care.
