I am having a bad day. It started this morning after a meeting then it worsen after another meeting. Now I am really mad and want to say all the things on my mind but another part of me is saying that I RELAX and think first of the consequences if I'll burst out all my anger. Do you think I am doing the right thing?

It is impressive that you have that kind of self control. I have been in the same situation several times but I burst (LOL)! So I used to end up at the office of the Department Head with the Supervisor whom I shouted at (LOL again)! But I definitely don't encourage you to do that. That's very wrong. I am still trying to learn to be more composed next time i encounter problems created by my supervisor and I am praying hard that I be able to control my anger when she just won't listen to my suggestions how to fix the problems she created (grrrrr!) I cannot blame you for feeling that way, i perfectly understand you. What I will suggest is, after you cool down, approach the person involved, whether a co-league or a supervisor. Talk to them privately, tell them how you feel, suggest solutions to the problem... and if they don't listen, you now have the right to EXPLODE! Good luck!

Ya you are doing the right thing I thing the best, because taking conroll of the anger is a very tough work.I can't do this. Whenever I get angry I try my best to calm down, but I can't.And about your birthday delayted happy birthday.Sometime when we are doing job we have to sacrifice our happiness like birthday, festivals etc. I too have this kind of problem. On the day of my birthday I was going to having the party at night but on my job I got so much work. After finishing my work I reach my home for party at midnight and everyone waiting for me, we don't have chance to celebrate it fully, so we just eat the food and goto bed. What a birthday........so you are not the only one here.........

Yes you are doing the right thing. There are times that I also want to burst out ugly things out of anger. But I know if I do this, my co-workers will talk behind my back and that will be the worst.

Yes, that is right. We may not be responsible for what we feel, but we sure are responsible for how we react to what we feel. Do control your anger, but channel it to something else, else it will drive you mad. Like, crumple paper or sharpen all your pencils, anything like that. Or, like I do, listen to soothing music to drown out the stress. Or just breathe slowly, and let the tension out of your body. I'm having a stressful day as well. I want to throttle somebody, but obviously I can't. So I understand. Sigh.

yes, you are doing right. sometimes anger makes us do something that is regrettable after so you did right. just take some time off and relax and take deep breaths before you go back to your work environment. good luck!
