They Actually Won A Game - Please Pick Me Up Off The Floor!

Well this afternoon I organised for my brother to pick my son up from school, just so that I could watch the England Game, which rather annoying started at 3pm instead of 7.30pm. Anyway it seems that my reorganisation skills of today paid off... because England won 1-0 to Slovakia!!! I was amazed... and happy. When the game started I did feel that perhaps we were playing better than what we had been in the last two matches. Perhaps the booing of the English fans on the last game had spurred them on... who knows, but in the first half I was so happy when Defo scored, it was brilliant I even taught my toddler to shout Come On!!! Ther est of the game was a nail biter, I really thought at one point that Slovakia were going to equalize... but they didn't thankfully. Our boys showed us that they can play when they want to, although it has to be said they are still not up to the standard that they should be at. Rooney almost scored a goal, but it hot the side of the post, and we did get another goal in, but it was not allowed, I don't know why.. I missed that bit of the explanation, I think I was too busy swearing at the TV like some insane woman!
Anyway, we are now going to be playing again Sunday, I just hope that now we have won a game, this will lift the team spirit, and give them the motivation that they need to win again.

hi rosie as an American I am not really into the world cup but
I am glad for you your team won,so now maybe this will motivate
them to win one more time. I hope they do and that you get to
watch the game. I gather this is soccer or football? Any way
as I am not a fan of either I have not been keeping track.

Yeah, this is the football, they are out in south africa playing for the cup, not that I think they will get that far judging on how they have played recently. I think USA were playing today as well, but I did not watch that game. I hope that this win does motivate them, because it would be good to see them start playing at their best again. I am not a mad football fan, but I do like to cheer on England since that is my home country.

Hey Hatley, You have to be proud to your Football National Team. Dempsey and friends won the game against Algeria by score 1 - 0. They pass to the next round and become the winner of Group C. They have same score with England team as runner up but advanced in goal. That was great game played by USA team even though the goal occur just few minutes before stopped time. I could watched the game only few minutes after England and Slovenia finished the game. And very fortunate, I could seen the goal in minutes 87. Congratulation to USA, keep the spirit.

Hey rosie, England team beat Slovenia not Slovakia. Slovakia is in the Group F together with Italy, New Zealand and Paraguay. I watched the game and seen how Jermain Defoe beat the Slovenian goalkeeper on 23rd minutes on first half. You know, England is one of my favorite in World Cup 2010 even though they didn't find the best performance yet. I hope Gerrard and friends can win the next match.
