Gold coin in soaps!!!

India
June 24, 2010 5:36am CST
I see an advertisement in TV, newspapers that a particular brand of bath-soap has gold coin in them, not in each and every though. People are crazy buying them in dozens, even if those who used to buy just one. In these days using a scanner, x’ ray or metal detector, one can very well see the embedded coin in the soap cake. Earlier there was ad telling that the cap on soda bottles and coke bottles had gold coin pasted below it. My country is full of dishonest traders and shop keepers that sell soaps and soda, coke etc. Had there been any such stuff, they could remove those soaps or bottles easily, hiring a person with metal detector, scanner. I just don’t understand why they float such bogus ads in TV and papers and why the people get cheated? What is the scene in your place, country; please share your views and comments. Professor

hello professor, you are right not even in India but i have noticed this dishonesty in my country as well as rest part of the world too.. i dislike all of these things. they take off the discount things away from the product and the innocent people does not know the reality. my own father has a shop from 50+ years and when i used to work with them they used to do that too. i used to stand against them. and guess what happened i got a kick out of the shop hahahahha they thought i am not loyal with them hahahahah

This sounds so interesting. I've just looked it up online and it appears the gold coin soap is only available in India. I wish it was also in my country I would definitely buy that soap just to have a chance at having a gold coin. But then again, it is very easy to get cheated by these offers so a person would have to buy a trustworthy brand and not just any vendor.

Well this is completely absurd. Its very much like expecting someone to gift you millions for doing almost nothing. As you said that there are metal detectors,so they can easily spot the desired product and can keep it away from the lot.So no point buying such stuff just for the sake of some gold coin that you are never going to get.Same is the case with coke bottles. However, even if they don't detect metal then also its useless to go for buying such product. Many a times they claim that we can get some kind of coupon or something on showing which we can win gold and money. Most of then are not genuine and in case they are, then they depend totally on one's fortune. So when our fortune is coming into play then we should left our luck do the work and should not put our stupid efforts by buying that product in bulk.

In recent times I've not heard of any promotions like this in our country. However, I do remember when I was much younger that there was a similar promotion that involved emeralds that were encased in bars of soap. I don't think that there was anyone in my family that went crazy buying these bars of soap, but I do know that there were some people that ended up with a supply of soap that would have lasted them for several years.

yes...this must be only in our country i think...unless there are people to be cheated, they cheat...and have you heard that on the inside of the soap wrappers, if you find a picture of a house, you will be given a villa worth 25 lakhs or something, i dont know for which soap it was, how do you think this can be found out by the shopkeepers?

This is really so funny though, I can imagine the people buying them and finding nothing inside then even if they do not like the soap they have to use it. Here we often have such funny actions done however most of the time I do not look at them as a necessity, there may be something written on the cap of the coke too and you may win a big coke bag or umbrella.
