The winner has to go back home earlier

We’ve already dealt with the shock of Italy’s World Cup exit. Or we’ve posted about it at least. I suspect it will take a while for Azzurri fans to fully process it. The happier story is that Slovakia – playing in their first World Cup as an independent nation after years of watching the Czech Republic hog all the post-Czechoslovakia glory, are through to the last 16 of World Cup 2010. I don't know what's wrong with Italy.

Italy came into this world cup with an aging squad. The players were no doubt the same excellent ones who won the world cup 4 years ago. But 4 years later, they bodies were slower and though their minds knew where to be, their body will simply not take them there. As someone quipped, Italians came into the tournament, old and slow and now go out older and slower!! Cheers! Ram

Yeah, I agree. It is one of those really shocking moments of the World Cup.. with Italy's exit, anything is possible. I'm not rooting for Italy, but it was an expected team at least till the semi-finals or something. So now that Slovakia has pulled through, with Japan's victory in another game, the ball can be in anyone's court..this World Cup will be a very unpredictable game as far as I'm concerned.

There are a lot of talented players , Alessandro del Pie,Francesco Totti,Marco Borriello ,Antonio Cassano,Mario Balotelli Barwuah. But for some reason they did not come to South Africa.I dont know why Lippi can give up so many great players ,and he must responsible for the elimination.
