What's The Big Deal about Twilight?

When the movie first came out, Everyone was mad about it. Then I started wondering what is so good about it, so I decided to watch it. IT WAS ONE OF THE MOST BORING MOVIES THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN! Then New moon came out and people were crazy about that as well. Once again I decided to watch it (but I then left the cinema after 25 minutes because it was so boring) Now I hearing that there's some new Twilight movie coming out (or recently came out)? I really don't care to see a group of boring movies about some imaginary stuff with a stupid girl in love with a vampire! Don't you people think that the world has had enough of Twilight already? Why a new boring movie now?

I don't think it would be boring since it is a saga more of like a series.. just like any other tv shows but placed together like a movie.

I also don't know. But most of my girl friends are excited for the new movie. Maybe because the guys in their look good or they just love all the cheesy parts. I will only watch it if my girlfriend wants to watch. But I don't think so. We both don't like the movie. Its not worth watching in the movie house if you ask me.

Why would a 100 year old vampire care about some dumb high school girl? That's what I want to know! It's so dumb. I know some guy that tried to read the book and told me it was even worse than the movie.hahaha

I guess that you haven't read the book yet. well, almost all my classmates were totally a fanatic on this twilight saga. Well, guys might not definitely appreciate it since it was a love story and it's fiction. You might probably appreciate it more if you read the book. Well, maybe you've expected something from some scenes but wasn't able to see it and made you get frustrated and mad about it.I like to watch breaking dawn it's the best part of twilight saga. but well, if you really don't like it better not watch it or you'll waste your money and complain again.

I totally agree with you Kieron. this Twilight saga is nothing more than a crappy movie. I can understand why female moviegoers watch this because of the male casts. But male moviegoers going gaga also is so freaking terrifying. The plot of the movie is nothing but ordinary. And YES, the world has enough of this crap.

It's not crap just because you don't like it. I guarantee that I despise a large number of the movies that you enjoy, does that mean they're bad movies or that I have bad taste? I like Twilight, and I don't read the books or watch the movies for hot guys... I actually like the stories! And yes, I do have a brain. I can't wait for the third film... and the FOURTH film. (Oh yes, there's going to be one. And possibly a fifth one too.) No amount of Twilight hate is going to stop them. Get over it. There are plenty of other movies coming out and plenty of books in the bookstore that you can go enjoy. You can hate Twilight, but leave the fans alone. They're not stupid because they like something that you think is crap.

I have a few reasons i know of aside from the casts in the movie that makes people what to see it. Most people i know, watch the movie because they have read the books and they want to see it in film instead of read the heppenings in the books. I have also watched it just to jam around with friends. The first episode of the movie was a good one which kept me thinking what would have happened in the next episode. New Moon however, was a disappointment. So, i am now waiting for Eclipse to be released in few days in my country so I could continue the episodes. It would leave me hanging if I only watched the first two episodes only to leave the other episodes aside.

What's the big deal? People like it! About three hundred million teenage girls, boys looking to impress those girls, Moms, Dads, aunts, uncles, and crazies disagree with you, and since they're still willing to give out the cash to see the films... they're still being made! DUUUHHHH!!!! I hated Avatar, but it was a hit and now a sequel is in development. Do I whine and scream and say that the world's had enough of smurfy blue people and James Cameron needs to stop making movies? No. Because nobody cares what I think, and that's perfectly fine and dandy with me! People like Twilight, even if you think it's boring. Get over it. Twilight was massively popular before it was a movie. Before there was a movie deal. I remember telling my classmates and friends that I loved to read, and the first thing they would say is, "Oooh! Have you read Twilight?" I avoided the books like the plague for awhile because I thought it was the stupid Harry Potter craze with people who never actually read books all over again. But then one of my friends snuck the first book in my reading stack and I gave in and read it. Wonder of wonders... I actually LIKED it. So I read the rest of the series, and I liked them too! Why? Not for hot guys or purple prose, and no I don't want Edward to bite me. I liked the story. I liked all the characters and I was completely drawn in by the writing. So yes, I went to go see the movie. I enjoyed that too. And the second movie. Now I can't wait for the third movie! My friends and I are going to the midnight showing. After that, there's going to be two movies based on the final book, Breaking Dawn. And I guarantee that no amount of Twilight hate is going to stop them from coming out. You don't care? So what? You don't have to watch it. Aren't they playing a dozen other movies in your home city? Just leave the fans alone and go do what you enjoy. Like I always say, there are plenty of books in the bookstore. Sorry if I sound really mean, but I'm pretty sick of people complaining about things that are popular and saying they're not quality because of this or that. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's a bad film. Twilighters are not all brainless teenage girls who drool over hot guys and spend their days wishing for a vampire to come fall in love with them. (Not all, but I'm not going to deny that a large number of them are exactly like that.) I'm a Twilight fan. And yes, I have a brain. I just don't like the same things you do.

The movies are spawned from a book series. Maybe I'm lucky enough to have experienced great vampire stories written by Anne Rice in my youth so I'm spoiled, but this series does nothing for me. I absolutely love vampires and vampire movies/stories, but I personally think the twilight series is mediocre and I don't get the hoopla. I mean.. I feel like Stephenie Meyers (I think that's how you spell her name) isn't a top notch writer, like I said, mediocre. She's either oddly vague in her writing or TOO detailed. It's like, she can't seem to find a balance in her writing and it comes across as amateur like people that write fan fiction. I personally don't like the characters, either. I feel like Bella is a really weak character that basically is only alive for Edward. I mean, I'm all for love, but that weird convulsing/screaming stuff that happened when she was sleeping that was in the second movie because she couldn't get over he had left was just really upsetting and dumb. Considering so many young people read that stuff, it seems dangerous to me. Because young girls think that someone that practically stalks you is romantic and gets angry because some other dude talks to you. Well, it's not. It's inappropriate and is not okay and is downright abusive. The relationships are unhealthy. I mean...Wow, I could go on and on about how bad I think this series/story is. When I was in high school, I was really into Buffy the vampire slayer. Strong female character, great dialogue written by Joss Whedon and other talented writers. At the moment, I'm really into True Blood, which is pretty cheesy but really entertaining. Well, Buffy was pretty cheesy at times, too haha. So if you don't like twilight, then maybe check out those TV shows. Oh, not to mention buying the books/twilight stuff directly goes into funding the Mormon church because Stephenie donates a lot of her money from the success of her franchise to the Mormon church.
