hi dear mylotters! i have a question and hoping someone could help me out. am i right that the number enclosed by () after my name represents the total number of posts i already made since joining mylot? is that a total of discussions i've started added to the total number of responses? if i am right then why is it that my account looks like this one: angel_kaycee(860), when my discussions started is 99 and my responses is 773. of which should give a total of 872. then why is it it only says that i already posts a total of 860? please help me out. i hardly understand why. aside from the fact that i think my earnings do not increase too. i know the rules and i follow them i know i am making a more elaborated response everytime. thanks in advance! happy mylotting!

It is not quite accurate to say that it is the total of your discussions and responses, as you have observed. Your user rating increases for discussions which have at least one response and it also increases for the first response and the first comment you make in a discussion (but not for any subsequent responses or comments). Regardless of whether a response or comment increases your user rating, however, you still potentially earn from all your participation.

I just looked at your discussions. It seems that I should have said "Your user rating increases for discussions which have at least TWO responses." If you count the number of discussions which have less than two responses and subtract them from the sum of your 'started' and 'responded', I think that you arrive at the same number as your User Rating.

Commenting on responses in your discussions is something you should practice doing. It is the only way that a discussion can properly become a discussion (rather than a 'question & answer' session) and it is also one of the most efficient ways of increasing your earnings and gaining Discussion Rating points. If you cannot find enough to say in the way of comments, then either you had no real interest in the subject of the discussion or it wasn't, perhaps, a good enough discussion topic in the first place.

You forgot to count the comments you left to responses. They are counted in as well but usually I don't think comments are being payed. I hope this helps, Regards, George

if im going to count the comments also. then it would make a bigger difference. why is it that the total number of my posts do not increases?

Geojb90, ALL participation is rewarded. Comments certainly earn in the same way that responses do, that is, if they are of sufficient quality. One word or one line responses or comments are likely to earn little or nothing.

Oh well I didn't knew that. Thank you for telling me this. I was informed wrong and I'm sorry I did the same in my response.

Hi there! You are definitely right that the number enclosed after your username is the total number of posts you have made. That actually varies because there are times that started discussions are deleted or the discussion that you commented from is deleted then definitely your comment is likewise deleted. Our earning are likewise fluctuating because of deleted discussions or comments. Another possible reason is that, your new discussions and/or comments for today are not yet updated because of the time zone.

its the number of your post you made here in mylot though sometimes or most of the time the post you made on you own post is not counted, like for example you made this topic right now and ii respond to it then if you respond to my comments then if you can see it will not show but it doesnt mean you will not going to be paid by it, you will still get paid, though not all responses, comments nor post are being paid, it only depends to the quality post you have. you will not get any earnings in some one liner response.
