Help! New flowers infested with slugs!

My husband bought some yellow daisies last week and we transplanted them in a partly sunny flower bed, since the instructions said these flowers would grow in either sun or shade. Now the flowers are dying and the flowers and stems have a lot of slugs on them, which is disgusting. How can I get rid of the slugs and save the flowers?

I have tried eggshells, but they didn't work so well for me, but I was spreading them around hostas. Slugs don't like copper either because they get a bad reaction from trying to crawl over it. I take copper pot scrubbers and unwind them. I stake them out around the base of the hostas. The slugs won't cross over the sharp copper mesh.

have you tried Sevin dust? It is made of Pyrethrin and kills most bugs and slugs and won't harm animals. You just dust it on your plants.

Thank you. I am not an experienced gardener and I will definitely look into it!
