Catchy business names.

Many people who go into business believe a catchy name should increase business. I knew a Take Away food shop called "The Mouth Trap." There is also a picture framing business close to Melbourne named "Pane in the Arts." I think both are clever, whether the name helped the business I don't know. Do you know any funny or catchy business names?

Hi Mike, That's one of the marketing strategies in business...the name, the color and their tagline. Branding is very important to create impact and recall from customers. i love the examples you mentioned in your discussion!

Good marketing people are creative and original. I wish the ones I worked with were not so boring, and spent their time on being creative instead of pestering me for more money all the time. LOL. Mike.

I heard on the radio of a dog washing business called ‘Dirty Dogs Done Dirt Cheap’ which I thought was really good! I love Pane in the Arts! A good catchy name is probably a good start for a new business because it is unlikely people would forget a funny and catchy name!

Hi paula, the dog one is certainly a good play on words. Thanks for input. Mike.

a few years back i heard this story, i don't know if it's true though. they said somewhere here in the philippines, there was an eatery named 'cooking ng ina mo' which means your mother's cooking. it's funny and catchy because it sounds like a curse phrase. then they say there was a rival eatery named 'cooking ng ina mo din' which means your mother's cooking too.

Many. A shop near our school which sells camping devices has a name "MuYunRen", means "persons who graze clouds". A kind of famous Chinese food in Tianjin is called "Goubuli", which means dog will not pay any attention to its master after smelling the smell of this food. etc.

To be honest I don't really understand the first one. Oh, sorry do you mean 'gaze,' that must be it. Thanks for replying.

There was a fast food in my home town, it was on a partnership. there was a dispute and the partners decided to split. The fast food was renamed as new fast food. The other other partner opened a new fast food and named it as old fst food isnt it funny. A few other funny names are the den (cyber cafe), Igloo (Ice Cream Parlour), Wild Spirits (pub). This pub was awesome it had creepers hanging down from the ceiling, the entrance was like the cave, there were leaves on the floor. It really looked like a haunted place.

I like the Igloo. There are many great named pubs in England. Whe I was in London, I worked in one called 'The Hoop and Toy.'
