paying it forward

instead of paying someone back, why not pay that someone back and do something good for three more people and make tham do what you did. We could use some random acts of kindness.

Hi Maxen, I follow this philosophy as much as possible, but prefer to do it for its own sake, so I rarely ask people to pass on the kindness. The only real exception is with books and other actual items I pass on. I care that they get a good home after they are enjoyed. Buddism asks us to practice kindness both seen and unseen - so I am now working on NOT making people aware of everything I do as a kindness. That sure is a personal challenge as it is human to want to be appreciated. At work the office staff are supposed to empty the trash in my room, but I try to do it. Then I am torn between telling them (to save their time), and saying nothing (to be humble. Hehehe
