This has been a long journey and it's not over yet! But my son has been in rehab for 4 weeks so far. He has improved so much!! They are discussing an appropriate discharge date and I'm getting all the equipment together that I'll need!!! yeah!!I'm so excited, he is doing so well. He still has a long ways to go and still needs lots and lots of assistance.. but we are on our way!

I am so happy for you. Get out and do some things before he does get home. Get a good rest, as I know it will be a big adjustment for both of you. It does sound like things are progressing well.

Good for you! I am happy to hear that you are being positive about your son because he needs it very much. A lot of family members nowadays are not giving enough support and encouragement if something unfortunate like this happens, but you are definitely not one of them. I pray for you son's improvement and I believe he will be able to progress very quickly since he is receiving a lot of love and affection from you. This is very important because with love and care your son will find self-esteem and renewed confidence to face the world. Congratulations for you and your son, and I pray for your happiness both.

Hey Hatley! Thanks for checking in on us! I brought my son home a little over two years ago and even though it is slow, he continues to progress. He has finally started to "wake up" a little more than a year ago. He eats around 1000 calories by mouth each day (I want the feeding tube out eventually!). He is actually in therapy and is starting to regain a lot of his muscle control. He can stand in a standing frame and is moving his left side around a lot - the right side is coming slowly too. He is gradually getting better it's just really slow! Thanks....
