Why are there such evil people in the world? Yet again this morning my news page is dominated by another atrocity, an act of war against fellow human beings. This time the killings were in a religious building as two suicide bombers attacked a Sufi shrine in the Pakistani city of Lahore. There were at least 42 people killed and at least another 175 other people hurt in the attack. Naturally my thoughts and prayers are with all those killed and injured and also their families. But I just cannot understand how one person can do these things to others.

It was a prophecy in the bible that when the knowledge has increase the more evil it comes so this is what happening today. As for the religious group they're always killing innocent people for their sake of their beliefs which is pointless. You don't need to kill to prove that you love God.

I so agree with you. I can't believe the evil and don't understand how one human can do to others what they do, then I think about Nazi Germany and the Jews (before my time) and I can't understand how anyone could have FOLLOWED and done what they did...I don't understand. What I do understand is that the evil comes from Satan and that God gives us freedom of choice and as each does these evil deeds they are choosing to do them but I don't understand how they can do this. I don't understand how people can kill and torture innocent animals either, tame and wild. I understand killing for meat and can accept that, even the Bible tells us to eat. But the sensless killing and torturing, I don't understand.

I hate to say this (being one myself) but I think humans in general are the problem the world is so F'd up. If there were no humans in this world today there wouldn't be hardly any evil. Who would be the evil ones? Animals, mamals, birds? They are part of this world too, and us humans destroy it, not even giving them a say. It is us who polute this world, who cause wars, who destroy nature. And yet life still goes on as if we do no wrong.:(

I think the education is the most important thing. If they were given good education, their brains wouldn't think of it and do it.Then we can just work hard and help others, maintain the peace. You know, there are still more good people than bad guys.

Unfortunately, people have been committing atrocities in the name of religion for centuries: although the underlying objective has usually been wealth (ie. the destruction of the Cathars) or power (IRA enforcers etc.). It's also so often the supposedly educated who are sending the indoctrinated to do their dirty work for them. I guess that as long as humans covet, there will be warfare, terrorism, crime and injustice. It almost seems to be a species instinct, which also extends into the financial world: it is not sufficient to make a profit, a business must consistently make more profit.
