Memnon responded to a discussion called Do You Have a Tattoo? What Do You Think About Tattoos? in life.
I'm not into tattoos myself, but can see why others might be- perhaps self expression. One of my work colleagues has a small one with the initials of her and her husband on her wrist (which seems fine to me) - and another has maritime tattoos- but has never served (which I find false). I guess it's a matter for personal taste, much like jewelry: something else that I'm no fond of. Our work plac...

The UK bee population is declinimg so we don't see so many I find wasps more of a menace. Chances are that most creatures probably regard us with greater fear than we do them!

Interesting point. It would be no surprise if little changed. As a site that posts in English (or American English) those for whom the language is not native would probably post the same. For most of my work colleagues, their English (native to the UK) would be inferior to most that would post- so I would not encourage them!

Memnon responded to a discussion called What would you do?? in make extra money.

I would be tempted to rid myself of one particular work colleague- that's too polite a word for the fatuous self obsessed b******d. For a million that could include termination. Someone very nearly did that in a road accident for him. Perhaps we need to pay the next one?

Memnon responded to a discussion called do you feel old? in friend.

Hitting a half century last year I have not lost many people, except one good friend last year. There are at least a dozen others that I'd like to have seen gone instead. I would have traded places with him, as my life is rather pointless. It would help ease the pain if I knew that I could take worthless spongers like the Blairs with me.

It seems to be accepted practice to tie the leaves together and leave untol they whither. They still don't look appealing though. Most of pur bulbs are planted near fast growing summer shrubs whose leaves mask these little bundles as they grow for ther season.

Do you like using self scan checkouts?

Tesco in the UK is to trialling a completely self scan store in Northampton. I think that these checkouts are handy if you only have a few items. I have noticed that they are prone to short delays if...

Does this irritate you?

I was watching Law and Order: Special Victims Unit a few days ago, and noticed something that has often niggled me about US productions. At what I guess we in the UK would call a bail hearing, a...

Should prisoners be allowed to vote?

In 2005 the European Court of Human Rights ruled that it was in breach of a prisoner's human rights to deny them the ability to vote.
Now the government is reviewing UK legislation with a view to...
