Yesterday, when I was finish with my mammograms, my Dr. catch me walking down the hall and he stopped me to tell me that I had to start using oxygen during the night and when ever I need it, because I was losing oxygen, due to COPD (Chronic Obstructive Disease). I have had COP for about 10 years, now. My heart went to my feet as I had to sit down as I was trying to take in what I had just been told. my goodness, I really don't know how I feel right now. And, it's know one fault but mind for starting smoking away back in 1966 when I was 12. I say this with love and concern **** If You Don't Smoke Please Don't start. ****** I am going to try to quite smoking again for the 8th time, and maybe this time I will Make. it's all down hill from here if I don't STOP. Talk care Snow

I know it's hard but I quit over 2 years ago and you can do it. I don't want to see you pushing an oxygen tank around.

Best of luck, Snow. I wish my dad had quit when my mom did, but he started smoking even after they found the cancer. I hear people like you, who are just my age (born in late 1953) with all these problems and I am glad I didn't make some of the same mistakes you did.

oh snow please, please, please stop smoking . I lost my husband because he loved his three packs a day to much to stop when the doctors told him if he quit right then he could live from the one'mild heart attack to grow old along with me. but he refused to quit so two more violent heart attacks and the last one was fatal. Really work on stopping, know that keeping on is just going to kill you. Know that this eight time You are going to make it,you have all us mylotters rooting for you, cheering cheering cheering you on. you can do it I just know you 'can. You will make it. Use that as a mantra, I will make it.

you started smoking when you are twelve? thats unbelievable! . i never tried to smoke when i was young and i will never start to smoke. funny that when i met my wife she is the one who smokes and drinks. when my wife went under C-section when she gave birth i over heard people at the wating hall talking about the bad causes of smoking, not just the simple ones we know but also, like, when you go under the knife for operations and you are a smoker the anesthesia will not be useful for long minutes than those people who are non-smokers.... well such things like that. one question, why during the night only? is it like recharging your body? i guess you need to slow down too and not over tire yourself. take care snow.

Hi se7enthbird. I am delightful that you don't start and please my friend, don't start. To answer your question: it's because my oxygen level drops to low at night, however, if I need it during the day, I am to used it. Yes, I do get tire fast and I have a hard time with hot and cold weather. I also, had to slow down, because my body will not let me do things that I wanted to do, like living and working. Thanks for stopping by and I enjoyed our little chat. Take care Snow
