Hello, everyone! I have been away for a long time but I am always here, reading your posts. Anyways, I just want to introduce you my 2 new cats, Tiki and Cookie. They are both rescued. The first day I saw Tiki (the tuxedo cat), I fell in love with her, instantly. My husband's original plan was to adopt just one cat, and he decided that it should be Cookie (the calico). Cookie was not yet spayed that day, so we were asked to come back after a few days. I can't stop thinking about Tiki. I told my husband that I really her but he was decided to adopt just one cat. I felt so sad. When we came back at the shelter to pick Cookie up, I looked for Tiki. I thought she was not there till she meowed. I was teary eyed when we were leaving the shelter. I did not help myself not to look back, and just as I was looking back at Tiki, she looked back at me, as well. I burst into tears and told my husband I really want her! Husband could not stand it when I cries, so we went back in and adopted Tiki. =] Now, we are together, always and forever! =]

Thanks, Haley. =] Tiki is a snatcher. She snatched my heart the very first day I saw her. Her eyes are glowing and really pretty. I always wanted to have a tuxedo cat, so when I sa her at the shelter, I knew she's mine. I did not stop thinking about her. She was always in my thoughts. And I was so excited when we got back at the shelter to pick Cookie up. I love all my cats, of course. They have different beautiful stories, however.. =]

Hi my4cats! I am so happy that your husband let you adopt Tiki! She is adorable and so is Cookie! They are both precious little kittys! They really are beautiful! I have 2 6 year old cats, boys, Star and Luna! Hopefully someday soon I will learn how to work my camera so I can post pictures of them too! I know you and the kittys will be really happy together!

Hi, Opal... It's me Theresa. =] I am still longing to see your beloved cats. =] Tiki and Cookie are best of friends, ever. Cookie is the friendliest amongst my cats. She never hissed at anyone nor scratch. She is such a sweetheart. Tiki is the funniest. =) She would even cry if she thought no one is around, that's when everybody is taking a nap, including Dennis. =] Happy to hear from you, Opal. =]

I'm glad you turned on the waterworks (even though they weren't on purpose)! I'm sure Tiki is too. I just think it is so great that you guys were able to adopt them both. And by the way, now that you mentioned your husband giving in when you cried, what is it with men and how the react to women crying? I think it upsets them more than if someone punched them in the face.

What a pair of beauties! I am down a couple of cats, one was adopted and the other went to the Bridge. Still, I have the ones that are here to stay and I love to pick them up and give them cuddles!

Your cats remind me of the time when My mom and I ended up doing the same thing. To this day I can't walk (I say this figitervly since I'm in a wheelchair) into an animal adption ficility, without wanting to take home every single cat in the place. Though I think that setement is shared by most animal lovers. Anyway. My mom read about a cross-eyed cat who was being held in the local animal shelter. She wanted to get the cat for me, so we talked my dad into taking us. When we got there I was looking around, and I realized one of the cats in the cage below the one that housed the cat we were getting, had gotten a hold of my shirt. (It was a little baggy on me, and stuck out enough) I of course genteally pulled the cat's foot free. Naturally my mom saw this, and how I was playing with the kitten. So she told my dad when we got back to the car. My dad said that we should get both cats. My mom protested, saying we didn't have enough money, but my dad insisted. So therefore, Ten minutes later, we were on our way home with both cats. I'll never forget that, and I'm glad it worked out. I hope you and your two furry bunddles have a nice long happy life togeather.

Thanks, kaylachan. =] Your story is fun to read. You are right, I always wish I could take all the cats with me and give them all a new home. When we adopted Cookie, it was $65 for adoption and the shelter gave us Tiki for just a dollar. =] When I first saw Tiki, she was so upset in her cage, so I took her out and petted her and promised her that I will take her home, with me. Our bonding was so instant. I fell in love with her and she fell in love with me. Now, we are together, forever. She makes me laugh all the time, everyday. She is the comic among my 4 kitties. =]

I think that it is great that there are still people like you out there that will adopt a cat or in your case two cats. There are lots of cats that need homes and there always will be.I used to help in a cats home and i will say they never put a cat down, the only thing is that they only can take soo many cats in as they only have enough spaces for a certain amount of cats.
