There may be quite a few "could be's" with this one. Have you ever had a tetanus shot in your life? Some people have reported reactions similar to this many years after having the shot with no previous reactions. Some viruses or other sicknesses could also have such symptoms as you've described. Any chance it could be wisdom teeth coming through? Wishing you All the Best with your search for the answer; I've heard that doctors really appreciate it if you can show you've taken the time to research your condition.

It could be a TMJ-related disorder . I'm wearing braces and use implants at night to correct my bite right now. Go ahead and try researching about TMJ disorder. But don't make a self-diagn0sis right away. It is best if you go and see a professional to determine if you really have it.

I agree that it could be TMJ. It can strike suddenly when you've never had symptoms of it before. Stress can cause jaw pain and it can also set off TMJ. If it continues, have it checked out by a doctor. Sometimes we grind our teeth or tense our jaw muscles without realizing it.
