I love reading. I'm reading a book right now and it's an old one it belonged to my fathers. The author is KEN FOLLET. Since I'm busy working and baby sitting. I read it one chapter a day. Before I go to sleep I make sure i read a chapter at a time. it's really slow but atleast I'm making progress than doing nothing at all. What about you have you tried reading it one chapter a day?

Yes, I too love reading and it's definitely a favourite pastime of mine! I actually have several books on the go simultaneously and the funny thing is I never seem to forget where I am in each book! Some people like to concentrate on one book at a time but I like to get as much reading done as possible within my lifetime! I think if reading one chapter per day works for you then this is fine! It all depends on how busy you are and everyone is different with their personal choices and preferences. I think the important thing is you are reading and that's all that matters in my view! Anyway, good luck with your reading and I'm also going to get into some serious escapism today! Andrew

Woow... Your an addict LOL!! Hey andrew wow you must have read pretty many. As for me I don't usually remember some of the books that I had read. I can't even remember the characters sometimes. Except if they are that popular. I just love it much and much and I'm glad that a lot of people love books and reading them of course.

Hi, I think you should activate your peripheral vision while reading. The left brain dominant readers seem to go ahead of their fixation point. A fixation point is the point at which your eyes get fixed while reading. The fixation points moves along the sentence as you read it. We don't follow a continuous pattern while reading. Rather our fixation point jumps in forward direction. The lesser number of fixation points per sentence , the faster will be the reading. Now a question may arise. How come we read the entire sentence with a 1 or 2 fixation points per sentence? The thing works like this. You actually look at 2-3 words per sentence and manage the rest with your peripheral vision. What is this peripheral vision? When you look at something in particular, a part of its surroundings also comes into your view, though you are not looking at it. So you stare at a fixed location, but actually see an area around it. You apply this peripheral vision to your readings and your reading speed will improve considerably. Thanks. God bless you

When I start a book, I don't stop until I have finished it. One reason I haven't been doing much reading. I have so much to do, and when I read that is all I do.

I leave Friday to go to our church camp grounds for a week and will be taking some books with me and will do some reading while there. NO computer to sidetrack me. One that I am reading right now is a daily Chronological Bible, I am way behind in that, even though you read a section a day. I read my Bible every day, just not that one.

I see.. YOu read the bible. I have tried reading the bible like a novel back when I was in elementary. You won't really understand its thought when you read it that way. You just read it for the sake and not trying to figure out the message and it's real meaning.

I'm also like that. The book I'm reading now maybe boring that's why I can bare not reading the next part. LOL That's why you should try it reading it like 2-3 chapters a time so that you still have time to read. I hope you would because reading is very very fun.

I have never tried this It sounds like a very good idea. I too am busy with being a full time student, mom, and waitress. I love to read but with work and studies the rest of my time goes to my children. But when they lay down at night or for a nap if I read a chapter a day I maybe able to squeeze it in. Thank You for the idea!

I don't think I could ever stand to read that slow. Even when I'm really busy, I find myself devouring more than just one chapter of a book. I'm not really a fast reader, but I'm an avid reader. I can't go anywhere without a book, and I can't go a day without reading at least 20 pages of a book. I'm always snatching spare minutes reading here and there. Just doing a chapter a day would drive me nuts.

Reading books is the big thing for me. I'll put reading a good book over television, internet, games, and movies! I do get busy at school and with just plain old regular life, but I take my books with me along for the ride. It's not so much about having time but making the time wherever I can find it.

OOooh.. Wow you are just pretty dedicated yourself when it comes with your books. I hope I can do the same. I just can't bring books at the office and we are not allowed to do so. I'm still reading it a chapter at a time and I usually forgot everything that happened.. LOL Crazy me.

Heyoooo alley rainy!! I can tell that that book is boring. I feel you because I never really let go of something and never stop until I reached the ending like playing games, watching videos and reading books. Well I'm just learning to make most of my time and learn to budget it so that it may not be so time consuming.

Reading is also one of my favorite hobbies too. I love how you can read a book and then years later see that book and instantly remember the story and be whisked away in your mind to it! I find reading before bed makes for a more relaxed transition into the sleep mode.

hey rally!! I admire you because you have a very good memory/ as for me I think I need lots of vitamins because I'm not good in remembering all of it. I admire and see how it was plotted but after that if it's not really significant it would not really stick on my mind.

I don't think I've ever read a book a chapter a day, unless it's a really long chapter, or a boring book. Well actually last night I read a little but not a whole chapter of one book... Not because it's boring but because I love to earn!

HI SCG!! Hmmm.. I did it because that book was pretty boring. I just have lots of things to do but I want to do things at the same time that's why I really take time to read a bit. You taught me that, YOu can still have fun and earn at the same time as long as you know how to budget and allocate your time properly.. Thanks mwahx ^^

I love to read. I've read Ken Follet's Eye of the Needle many years ago and saw the movie too. When I have a large book to finish, I do like you do and aim to finish at least one chapter a day. So if the book has 24 chapters, I would have finished the book before the end of the month. But sometimes a chapter ends with a cliffhanger and that's when I cannot help but continue reading the next chapter to find out what will happen next. And before I knew it I would have read like one hundred pages in one night. So before I knew it I'd finish the book within three days if the book was three hundred pages long.

My reading speed depends on what kind of book I'm reading. If it is a novel or other books for entertainment, I can read hundreds of pages per day, it is one or two whole book(s). but for academic & professional books which I must understand the content profoundly, I only can read one or two chapter one day. But no matter how busy I am, I'll force myself to read a specified number of pages every day and never be interrupted.

haloo qian!!! I don't heavily read academic books I admire you because you really take time to read those. As for me I open those when I really needed it, especially when I'm in school.
