Cross-stitch is a popular form of counted-thread embroidery in which X-shaped stitches in a tiled, raster-like pattern are used to form a picture. Counted cross stitch kits contain chart, fabric, threads, needle and instructions. And when I start to choose a new picture to stitch, I will check out the quality of the fabric and the threads firstly, in my opinion, these two materials are the most important in the process. Do you agree with me? and for you experience, which brand of cross-stitch kits is the best one?

I do not have a favorite. I do like the DMC kits though they are expensive. I haven't bought any kits though in a very long time. I usually print patterns from online, then buy my own threads and fabric. i like to do towels and baby bibs, as well as pillows.

Wonderfull, and I would like to do that just as you do. But I don't know how to choose the right colour threads when I refer to the pattern. Do you have any tips about this?

I try to go to sites that have color numbers, other wise I print out the color legend or a sample of the pattern 5 times it's size so that I can place thread on top to see if it matches or is close.
