according to me for engg students laptops must be small and weightless. that is a small notebook type laps with good hard disk space and ram should be purchased.. i'm using lenovo.. it's also handy one... acer laptops are having good attractive colours and styles ... but they are having good wieght too.. compaq laptops are having large size so not able to be carried along wid ur books and all.. lenovo laptps are small and can be carried along with ur college bags.. i'm using my lap fron last 3 years and still running efficiently... so i reccomend u to buy a lenovo lap

If you're on a tight budget, you can choose MSI,NEO If you're into social status, or making a cut above the rest, choose MAC or SONY VAIO If you're into performance, choose ACER,DELL or HP If you're after durability or quality, choose TOSHIBA or FUJITSU I find most laptops today have not much difference on the features. Basically, most of laptops available today "have it all" already. It really depends on your budget. As for me, i don't want just a laptop, i want an IPAD. It's basically a laptop but with newer flicks.

i like alienware m11x in fact this laptop is one of the best now available in the market!! it has an ultraportable size and extreme power and battery life considering the small dimensions!! Surely you should configure it carefully because if you want upgrade much you will spend so much..so you just make some choices if you dont want spend a dime for a lalptop but i think there is the possibility to configure it good and even speding a decent money!!

hi rosan... i recently purchased an ACAR laptop for my fashion designing purpose. i think it will be suitable for you. the configuration stands as: ~ ACER ASPIRE 5738. ~ INTEL CORE 2 DUO PROCESSOR, ~ T6600 (2.2 GHz, 800 MHz), ~ INTEL GMA 4500 MHD, ~ 15.6 HD LCD, ~ 4 GB MEMORY RAM, ~ 320 GB HDD, ~ DVD SUPER MULTI DRIVE, ~ ACER NPLIFY 802.11A/B/G/DRAFT-N ~ BLUETOOTH 2.1+ EDR, ~ MULTI IN 1 CARD READER, ~ 6 CELL LI-ION BATTERY. I dont know which kind of a configuration would suit your purpose but i feel this should match your expectations, i am pretty pleased with this system as it responds quick and fast as it stores a 4 gb of ram, the graphics are fine and i believe its fairly priced at indian rs.34,000 compared to the price of other brands offering with the same kind of a configuration. hope you find this info usefull. regards
