Sorry darkreaper...alopeia apreata may cause gray hair in some circumstances, but it really means baldness in spots. I had it. They gave me injections under my scalp to get the hair to come back, and when it did, it was gray, but it came back to my natural color.

As far as I know I do not have grey hair. I think it would be awful to have grey hair and I hope that I never get it. If I did then I would have to die my hair no matter what. I die my hair now, but if I had grey hair then I would definitely die my hair.

its hereditary. so sometimes when you still follow any instructions then it still happens. like for us our hair vanish faster for it is hereditary. so even we try the shampoo, and oils it does not really give the effect so we just have to embrace it. har har har. my wife as she said has grey hair as early as when she was 7. hereditary. now most of her hair are grey but she make sure she colors it. good thing there are different colors to choose now.

Hi Archie, Hair goes grey because it doesn't get enough proteins. Or there something wrong with the DNA (genetic reasons) that prevents the hair follicle from absorbing proteins. I don't know which gene performs that function. Neither do I know the pluck one-get ten theory. But I do believe that there is a long scientific explanation for it. I have started a blog for free medical books download- there is a book on Aging, you can find the details there. I hope my post was informational. Happy mylotting, Archie. Regards, Ajith.

There is a real and true reason for gray hair. Our bodies produce a substance called melanin. Melanin is what gives us colors in our bodies...hair, skin tome, freckles. Some people don't produce enough melanin, so they get gray at an earlier age. As we get older, our bodies make less melanin, so we get more gray. And, lastly, stress influences the production of melanin, so if you have a lot of stress, you have less melanin, and you get more gray. This is what Dr. Oz says, and, of course, he wouldn't lie.
