Roma Captain Francesco Totti: I Almost Quit Football Because Of Mario Balotelli

Roma captain Francesco Totti has admitted he was close to sticking the boot into his career after kicking out at Inter striker Mario Balotelli last season. Totti saw red in every sense and his actions were almost the final send off, but for back-tracking on his heat of the moment thoughts. "It's true that I thought about quitting at the end of last season. There was a moment in which I really thought about stopping," he told the press in Riscone di Brunico.

dont only blame totti...blame balotelli..he never deserve get respect i think

Though Totti is anyhow at the end of his career, it would have been sad if he would have retired in that manner. It would have almost been like how Zizou exited his international career. I think Balotelli is anyhow an accident waiting to happen and would definitely be involved in more such controversies in his career. Cheers! Ram

I have saw Balotelli a few times on tv and he does look like a good player. But so far, what I read about him is the troubles and problems that he is causing. A good player he might be, but without discipline, he can't go far. If a manager like Mourinho can't handle him, I don't think there is any in the world who is able to. Well, except maybe Alex Ferguson with his infamous hair-dryer treatment.
