why the "questions" are named as "questions" and the answers are named as "answers"? how the both words are combined together? is there any story or history or reason behind that?

Do you want to know the origins of the phrase "question and answers", or the individual words in said phrase?

Hi Vijay, I think we can get answer for this kind of questions.Since that is predefined word. Still if you want answer, then you do have PHD in English to more about it. Cheers, Sakthi

hmm... i tried to look for the etymology of the words 'question' and 'answer' but i didn't get anything so i don't really know. but i guess those two words are just arbitrarily named, just like all the other words. and maybe the reason why they always come together is that you actually expect answers coming after questions... it would be weird if answers came first right? oh. sorry i'm not making any sense.(@_@)
