A puzzle. Nobody can give the optimum answer.

I have read a question which is absolutely a puzzle. It said that if your gf and your mom fell in river at the same time. They both can not swim. You could only rescue one of them, who will you rescue?
So funny and just a puzzle. Hope not to offend you.
If you were the man, what will you do? Use your imagination and give the answer you could think.
There is no fixed answers. I have got one which seems more reasonable and funny.
Just enjoy it, then I will give it to you.

I am not a man but I can give you the logical answer...you save your girlfriend because she represents the future. Your mother has lived her life but your girlfriend can give life to future generations. Of course, the very best answer is that you get a rope and save both of them!
