Hi, Have you lived in more than one home? Were they one-family houses, mobile homes, hotels, trailers, apartments, condos? Which one did you like the most and why? I have lived in 7 homes. The first was an apartment in a 6-family house, the second, third, fourth and fifth were apartments in 2-family houses, the sixth was a one-family house and the seventh is my present one-family house. My favorite is my present home because it is the largest and has the most rooms and the most storage space. I hope that we will be able to stay in it! It has been very difficult financially. What has been your experience with your homes?

starting since when i got married 'till now i can't imagine if how many times i've change a home or a house that we're living that time 'till my children becomes four..to make the story short we have no permanent home to live that time evry year or two years we look for another house to live or rent..my eldest daugter now is 15 years old now...can you imagine of that span of years we change home evrytime..but at present we are able to purchase a small house that we call our own in a place south of manila..God is really good that He make me now able to have a home that we call our own.Am so much grateful that after all the hardships and sacrifices that we do in our life the reward is still waiting for us.Just don't lose hope evrytime you have a plan, just do all the best you can in evry plan that you have coz am pretty much sure that your efforts will be paid soon as long as you are sincere, true and honest about it.

I have lived at only 3 different places. When I was a kid, I lived at house in my village. When I started going to school, I had moved to another house in the local town and now I live in apartment, but I wish I have house somewhere and I hope to buy some in near future.

Hi Standard123, It must have been very difficult moving every two years or so for so many years. It is wonderful that you have finally been able to purchase your own home. Congratulations! Thank you for your good wishes. Hi Kingsizewe, You are lucky to have lived only 3 places. It is wonderful that you are now planning to have your own house. Best of luck with it when you find it!

If we have our ancestral property - we are the most lucky humans on this earth. And,we can stay comfortably. But,to have our own house is all a game in life. For, we have to work hard earn good money and then construct a house. It may or may not be possible for every one. I worked hard and finally constructed a house which was lost because of my brothers mistake. This is my very BAD luck. Till now I have changed 5 different house and now got adjusted of changing the houses too. This is a game in life we have to play and see.

Life is very precisely designed by HIm and we cannot escape at all. That is we have to work out our karma's in this fashion as for my case.Who ever stays in this world should surely workout his/their karma's in the fashion he has designed. Yes, I wish to stay at one place - with his grace...

Hi busybee, I'm so sorry you lost your home beause of a mistake by your brother. These things happen, though, and can't always be controlled. I hope you won't have to live in many more places but are able to stay in one you love.

I have lived in two apartments and two homes. One being my parents home the other mine and hubbies. The two apartments were, to save money for down payment for our home. Each apartment was a great deal also my husband was the care taker of the establishments that owned them .This gave us great savings cutting the rent in half for the tasks he preformed for these apartments. We have been through some rough patches also but have always managed to keep our home.Where there is a will there is a way !Thinking positive and being resourceful ,Will keep you financially secure. Not a easy task with the way our economy and jobless rate keep getting worse. We have budgeted every penny we ever made ,Its not the easiest thing to do but it is possible. I wish you all the best in finding ways to help yourselves not loose your home.

Sounds like your headed in the right direction .You will have your house before, you know it. Set backs with money will happen no matter what,Whenever these choose. It will normally happen when you can least afford it also.So your emergency fund is a great idea! We have a rule of paying ourselves before anything else,Even if its as little as 10.00 at times every week we put some away.I must say it adds up fast.Good Luck in getting everything squared away.

Hi Capsicum, My husband and I also lived in an apartment for many years (about 10) to save to buy a house. You were so lucky to get a deal because your husband was care taker. We need to find a way to start saving money for an emergency fund. We don't have one right now because we had a huge car repair bill several months ago, among other things. We are trying to budget everything and cut down on everything. You're right that it isn't easy! Good luck to you too.

till now i have lived in 3 homes.. The first one when i was born it was a good home, it had two rooms.. Me, my mom and dad are the family members..so it was enough for us.. Later after a year we switched to another home, it was like compound of houses it had 5 houses , 5 teams or 5 families can fit in that house, it was quite comfortable.. Later my parents decided to build their own house, we bought a land and built a small house of 3 rooms and later we expanded it to 5 rooms .. Now again we constructed a floor on the top and we are living in our house for the past 15 years .. for the first 5 years since my birth we have changed 3 homes..wheni turned 6, it was the solution, we made our own beautiful and spacial independent house..

Hi Gunagohan, My first home was also small. It was in a 6-family house and had 4 small rooms for 4 people. It was on the second floor and there was a flat roof so it was very hot there in the summer. My present house is the first one I have ever had with air conditioning. I would not want to live without that again. I mind the heat and humidity very much. It is wonderful your parents were able to buy land and build their own home. That is probably the ideal situation because you can build it exactly the way you want and need to have it.Then you can add to it as needed. That is my dream to build my own home some day, but I don't know if it will ever happen.

I've lived in 2 houses. Both of them are apartments. I don't like the second one because I always get trouble with it: My neighborhood always complains when I turn on the Rock radio station...As a result, i have to turn down the volume...It's so terrible!!!

Hi Quocanh, Sorry to hear your neighbors don't appreciate hearing your music! That is aggravating. I guess you'll just have to compromise and keep your music down while still being able to enjoy it.

Till now, I have lived in three houses. The first one was my parental house and of course it’s the favourite in many ways… it’s the place I can always relate to whenever I go there… in fact I go there everyday coz my son stays with my parents after school, even then, I feel so very at home whenever I step on to those stairs. Second was my in-laws home…as per our tradition, most girls go and stay with their in-laws (a joint family system) after marriage and so did I. that house too hold special memories for me…after all, my room in that house was the very first one which I could call my very own, without any parental interference. I spent 10years in that and it was a very mixed emotional journey. Right now, I’m staying in a very small apartment…again for the first time, I’m both without parents and in-laws supervision…completely on my own. Its not an easy journey but I’m enjoying living on my own terms with my hubby and child.

Hi Sudiptacallingu, It is wonderful that you feel at home when you go to your parents' house. That is the way it should be in every family. It is good you have them to take care of your son and you know someone who loves him very much is caring for him! Your first house alone with your husband and child is always very special no matter what size it is. I wish you the best of luck there!

I don't know how many houses/apartments I lived in before we moved to Texas. I'm pretty sure at least 3 houses or apartments. My parents moved my brother and I to Texas when I was about 22 months. We lived in a rental house before moving into the house they built. When I was almost 10, we moved into a house that we lived in for the next 10 years. Then my parents moved to an apartment while my sister went to high school. Then, I moved out to go to grad school, but that didn't work out, and I moved back to Austin into an apartment. Maggiepie and I lived there for almost 4 years. We moved into a cute little house and lived there for the next 4 years and then into the house I live in now. Technically I rent this place from my mother, but I hope to be here the rest of my life.

Yes, I've lived in more than one home. I've lived in a total of 5 different homes in my lifetime so far. 2 of them were apartments and the other 3 were single family houses, including the one I'm currently in. As for my favorite home, it has to be the last apartment I was in. Even though it isn't as big as the place I'm in now, I loved the way it was laid out. And the bathrooms were huge! Not that I'm really into bathrooms or anything, it's just the ones that are in my current home are so darn small. It certainly makes me miss having a spacious bathroom. Now, when it comes to the location, that's another matter entirely. I love where I'm at now as I love living out in the country. If I could stay here forever, I would. Happy mylotting!

Hi Sacmom, We have a really huge bathroom off our bedroom upstairs and I love it too. It is such a pretty room and it has a very high ceiling with hooks for plants. We don't have any there right now, though. I also have a very large linen cabinet which I like a lot too. It is like a small walk in closet! Some day I hope to live in the country too. Then we could have a big piece of land with a lot of trees and flowering bushes. I hope you will be able to stay where you are a long time!

I have lived in 13 different homes and I am 19 and this list still has plenty of time to grow as I know it will. Most of my homes were houses but 1 was a a trailer and one was an apartment but they were near the beginning of me growing up. I have lived in 1 to 3 story homes and they all were pretty good. I dont mind the size of the house just as long as their is room.

Hi Tap, Wow, 13 homes in 19 years is a lot. Yes, as long as the house is big enough for the number of people in it the size doesn't make too much difference. The layout can be pretty important too in some cases. For example, my last house before this one there was a long corridor you had to walk through to get to the kitchen if you were in the den or living room. It was a round about way to have to go to get there. I liked the house pretty much otherwise, though.

Well we have ancestral house in province where most of my relatives lived but as far as I know I lived there till i turned 4 years old. My mom and dad bought a townhouse where we live for about 7-8 years. When I graduated in grade school we moved into another new duplex house for 5years and finally stay there until I finished my high school days. When I studied college I used to live in a dormitory, after college and found good job I decided to live on my own. I rent a small apartment near my office and it's very good to have my own private life but I still visit our ancestral house in province and family house as well. ;)

Hi Mychickencurry, I stayed in a townhouse for a week once when I was on vacation about 10 years ago. It was a nice change and I enjoyed it. That's the only time I was in one. It is very satisfying to be out on your own, but good to be able to go home to visit with family occasionally too. Best of luck wherever you live in the future!

Hi Hoshi, I've never lived in a mobile home, but I think it would be fun to be able to pick up and leave house and all and move somewhere else, when and if you wanted to do that. How do you like Brazil?

I actually love this house and wished to live in it for many years... yet the house's owner is doing my parents hard time, raising each year... while her house becoming worse, there are few things which would require a deep fix and would need a lot of money also... I just hope that we could stay in this house for another year or two, it would be much more convenient.

Hi Tiny, I guess I'm like a nomad compared to you. I have lived in 29 homes in my life. Five of them were growing up with my family and they were always houses. Once I went out on my own then they were all apartments except for 2 houses and one tent. Actually, I just thought of another one...the one I'm in now. I used to love moving around but I've really grown kind of tired of it. For a while now, I would just like to be settled. Actually the apartment that I had just before this one was the longest I'd been in one place and I was there for 10 yrs.

I have lived in several homes throughout my life. Here is a brief and approximate summary by age. 0-4 small duplex house that I shared with my mother in LA. 4-10 small single family house that I lived in with my mother 10-14 slightly larger family house that I lived in with mother and father 14-20 large single family house with pool that I lived in with family 20-26 the home that had been my grandparents old farmhouse which my mom inherited. I lived there with my mother. 26-52 the home I am still living in. Very old. It was restructured from an old medieval convent dating back to the 14th century. I don't think I'll be moving any more but life can be unpredictable.
