Life of a preacher

Have you ever thought how difficult a life of a preacher could be? People expect much from them to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. Isn't it so difficult to meet that perfect aspect in life to not just preach but do as they say?

It is not really important how people look at them but how God looks at them. That should be their mindset. God pleasing and not people pleasing. Because there are a lot of things the people may look as not good but it is exactly what God wants it to be.

Yes... thats how preachers are meant to be... Pleasing people is not considered when Judgement day before God comes... The Preacher should walk in the way what God shows to him and he should not pretend to be pure but he should pure in truth...

That is a very funny question to me, but that's because I come from a long line of ministers. It's just sort of in our blood!I am actually the thirteenth generation of ministry in my family so it goes back a long ways! And it is difficult because of the pressure others try to put on you. It is especially difficult for preacher's kids because they are expected to not be a regular child with a normal life!

Yes, I could imagine that. They expected you to lead a good example, to know the answers of all happenings around the folk, to solve any problems right away and they began doubtful of the preacher when the result is not there. It is a difficult life.

Personally this would be one of the hardest callings a person could ever do. Number one everyone is always judging and looking at them and their family, scrutinizing everything they do trying to find fault, and trying to learn to live the way the Pastor is telling them to do. If you have one who never wavers and is strong no matter what comes his way the church will survive, and he will be a better man because of it.

Maybe you can do other things than what they do as long as its from heart and its for good...

Human nature seeks out the stains in the white robe ... that is--since preachers often seem 'all high-and-mighty' in their positions in the spotlight--people hurry to find out if they've done anything 'all low-and-weak' like we normals do sometimes. And--as many of them 'make their livings off of' the church--any non-'bare survival'-use of that currency is seen as 'living the high-life' or something. Reminds me of when Judas complained to Lord Jesus (in 5/8-time in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar) "Woman, your fine Ointment-- Brand new, and ex-Pensive-- Should have been saved For the Poor. Why has it been Wasted? We could've raised Maybe Three-hundred silver Pieces or More. People who are Hungry, People who are Starving; they Matter more than Your Feet-&-Hairrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" And Lord Jesus replied, "... something, some-some something something, some-some ... Trying To save the poor from their lot. There will be poor always Pathetically Struggling, Look at the good things You've got. Think while ya still have me; Move while ya still See me. You'll be lost, And you'll be sorry, When I'm gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnne!" As long as the preachers you talk about aren't hurting anyone (or taking away from anyone), they're alright.
