Do you know what walking can do for you?

Walking can help you stay fit and heathy. Before when I was in highschool my Mom and I always walk uphill in the mountains. She wants me to accompany her in her walking exercise because she's afraid to walk alone. We walk uphill and downhill together. When your walking uphill fats will burn out of your body and when you walk down hill your blood sugar will decrease, walking downhill is good for diabetic people. Okay, lets's go back to my Mom. She wants to be slim also that's why she walks and now she is really healthy. Me, I stop exercising or walking uphill due to my busy college life and I already move out of my home town and because of that I now have a fatty stomach and I feel really very unhealthy, my six pack abs dissapeared already.

Walking is one of the easiest ways to be physically active. You can do it almost anywhere and at any time. Walking is also inexpensive. All you need is a pair of shoes with sturdy heel support. I agree but also make sure you take some water along with you as well to help keep you hydrated. You never know when you're body is being beaten down on by nature and water is a must and you will not gain weight from it. I have lived in the desert and now in Texas where it is humid. Hydration is something most people do not do when taking long walks over a mile or so when they should be. Beside you can never tell what can happen? I was in the desert and was bitten by a snake. And having some kind of fluid like water can make a big difference when you are trying to get back home to get help. Its better to be prepared then not and use common sense along with with our bodies need.

I think that walking is one of the best exercises one can do for their physical and mental well being. It's virtually free (all you need is a pair of comfortable walking shoes and walking attire) and anyone can do it. With walking you can set your own pace and go where you want to go. One tool that is very helpful with walking is a pedometer. That way you can monitor your progress and how far you've walked every day. I try to walk at least 10,000 steps a day.

Hi crizjordan! I normally don't mind where I walk as long as it's safe and nice enough to. Usually it has been on a relatively flat surface. I've had a good feeling from walking half an hour of brisk walk 3 to 4 times per week to be fit enough to enjoy my day and a sound sleep at night. But this is something new I've learned today. Thank you. The next time around I would try to include both uphill and downhill walk as well. I believe it should be good as it work on different muscle groups as well. Great! You should too and get your six packs back.

I've been through every diet under the sun, and I can tell you that getting up, getting out, and walking is always the first goal. Walking is aerobic exercise. It keeps you fit and it helps you take off extra weight and keep it off. Obesity has become an epidemic among Americans; it is especially troubling that so many American children are now overweight or obese. Numerous studies have shown that lack of exercise is a major factor. So guys, walk everyday!!! Stay healthy and exercise everyday :) Good day! (Please rate me)
