I set it to auto update. Anti virus, anti malware... auto update, auto scan, auto everything! Why do you have to manually update it anyway?? Unless it doesn't have that option.

well some people prefer to do it manually.. to have control over the bandwidth is one. Linke Chrarsltn pointed out, you don't want your antivirus start downloading the updates while your playing an online game.

really often if available also 1 time every 2 days or when it is possible to update and install the new definition as well!!In reality i think many antivirus are good but f you shouldn't use to be uptodate..you will take safety risks..

I don't usually update my anti-virus manually I just let it auto update. Sometimes I do update my anti-virus manually and I do it once a week.

After one year of using Linux, I have not had to worry about virus or malware. This issue about how often to update anti-virus files is now foreign to me. Anyway, you guys should try my anti-virus software: Linux. It doesn't cost much to own or operate and it certainly does not require third-party software for protection. One of these days, somebody should really sue Microsoft for doing such a lousy job protecting its own operating system. Anti-virus and anti-malware software should all be part of their system and not something that's optional, not to mention, costly.

LOL. given a choice in my workplace, I'd rather convert every OS into linux. problem is the applications used are all Microsoft based. :(

Yes, I prefer to manually update my anti virus. Though my anti-vius has auto updat feature I do not us this coz I am not sure when I am online. So I prefer the manual way. I do it at least once a day everyday. This is just to ensure that my anti-virus is always update with the definitions and can handle the new infections.
