We all have a live and a family to support with our fixed income. Now here is something that I wanted to share with you - When I was in my XIIth Standard, I wanted to help some orphan children and those at Old Age Homes. Whenever I needed Greeting Cards, Pencils, Candles I would buy those made by them. This gave me a feeling of satisfaction that I am doing my contribution and helping them out. I also started saving from my pocket money and invested in sponsoring a girl child's education via a renowned charity. Since then I have been sending money to this charity to support the education of a girl child. I would like to know your views and how would you like to contribute your share?

Hi thesids! I work with the disabled youths and kids. Among the things we do to provide us with some food on our tables are the things we made and the vegetables we grow to sell. We couldn't have done it without people like you around. Indeed, sponsoring a child's education would have made your life as meaningful as buying or believing in what they do.

Thanks for being appreciative of my work. Though I wished I could do some more. I think I am lucky to have a wife who has stood by me even in this time when I have not a regular income but she has taken care of my commitments. Wouldn't have been possible without her.

You are blessed as much as she is as well as your family and those you touch. Life seems to reward you in return. I'm sure there would be more in ways more mysterious but worth the while.

Hi thesids, your idea is good. Honestly I never thought like that. Now I should buy their products as a help to them. The only thing that goes in my mind, if ever I die I want to donate my organs, everything that can be helpful to them. Like my eyes to the blind. My kidney to the mulfunctioning kidney. And so on and so on. I have lots of application form in my hand. The only thing I should do now is to decide which organization I should notify/inform in relation to my desire to donate my organs. If my time comes.

Of course, I should inform my family regarding my idea. Fill up this forms without their knowledge will be useless. That idea came along because I have a strong compasion for those people who is not lucky as me. And giving them a better life. Thanks thesids for your advice.

I think it's great! For people who cannot give money time is just as important. There are many ways to make that kind of investment.

Hi thesids, I truly believe that it is better to give than to receive. You have shown what a good and chartable heart you have. Even though you are on a fixed income, you have still found a way to give to the less fortunate. There is always someone that is less fortunate than ourselves. The small things that you do, may seem small to you, but to the receivers they are huge. I too, am on the fixed income. However, I do give to the charities of my choosing. I donate to the children's hospitals, such as St. Jude. I have donate money to help dig wells in other countries. I feel good about the small contributions that I have made and will continue to make. Keep sharing and receive blessings in return. God Bless

Hi thesids, Wow, what you do is really great. And you really are making a big difference in that little girl's life by helping her with her education. Though I have to admit, I haven't done anything like that except with some outreach programs we had at school before. I always believe that people who have big hearts to help others whether something like what you did or in other ways to help are often blessed. Not to mention, this world badly needs more people with genuine hearts. =)

I admit that this whole thing started at school when we were asked by an organization to collect funds for Old Age people from our neighborhood. I didnt do anything then and was the last in terms of collections. I remember that on the Parents day meet, they announced the names of all those who had collections for this. I felt bad. Then I saw an advert where my favourite singer was speaking of donations to this charity. It was then that I decided to help and have been doing so since then.

God bless you, friend, for what you are doing. Our world would be a better place with more people like you who have a benevolent heart to help the underprivileged. I'm involved in a charity foundation helping the poor and less privileged families. Our foundation solely rely on donations from people who believe in giving and the value of investing for charity. I cannot give more on finances but I can share my skill as a teacher. I teach English for free here in our community.

Thats wonderful ruthsm. Teaching is one of the noblest professions and when you are doing it as charity there is nothing more than you can do. I wished if I were normal in health, I would have been spending time personally with them - kids at orphanages, old people at old age homes and even visiting the sick at the hospitals. But as I am not, I try helping them my own way. take care and Lord Bless

You may not be "normal in health" but you do better than "normal in health" people. You did not let your situation hinder you from helping others. All the more I'm impressed. Take care and may the Lord bless you more.
